“However,’ said Dumbledore, speaking very slowly and clearly so that none of them could miss a word, ‘you will find that I will only truly have left this school when none here are loyal to me. You will also find that help will be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it.”

As some might already know, I’m currently rereading the whole Harry Potter Series along with The Not A Book Club Club at Goodreads. I’m definitely enjoying myself while reading the magical adventures of Harry Potter again… It brings back great memories! Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets has never been one of my favorites though, mostly because I seriously can’t stand professor Lockhart. Being the annoying and pretentious wizard he is, I can say straight on he solely caused the one star deduction on my otherwise perfect rating. I do not say this book is perfect. The writing may have some flaws, but I cannot deny the influence this book and the whole series had on my childhood. Harry, Ron and Hermione belong to my favorite childhood characters I would have loved to either be o be friends with…

WARNING: Spoilers! Please don’t read this summary if you haven’t read the first book yet...

After a magical first year at Hogwarts, Harry is still forced to spend the summer with his Muggle aunt and uncle. And the worst part is that everyone seems to have forgotten him; even on his birthday he doesn’t receive a letter from his friends. The truth is revealed soon after when Dobby the house elf makes his appearance, and explains that Harry must not go back to Hogwarts because it’s not safe. Dobby nearly succeeds when he makes the Ministery Of Magic believe Harry used magic against the rules… But the Weasleys save him from his ‘prison’ and take him in a flying car to their home. Things improve while he lives with the Weasleys, but when the time comes to go back to school, something strange happens. Both Harry and Ron cannot get through to board the Hogwarts Express, and are forced to use the flying car to reach the castle. They were seen by Muggles and nearly expelled before the schoolyear even started.

Luckily for them, they were only given detention… And professor Lockhart shows us more and more the pretentious and self adoring wizard he really is. (Someone please hit him!) There are other important and dark things happening at Hogwarts though; tragic things. After rumours, it turns out the chamber of secrets has been opened… With in it a creature that has killed a girl fifty years ago. The Heir of Slytherin (the house where all the dark wizards belonged to) is setting out this monster again against all of those who aren’t ‘pure of blood’. And soon victims start to appear, and Harry is determained to find who is the new Heir of Slytherin. Will they find the chamber and stop the Heir on time?!

I really have to thank Rowling for those hours I was able to submerge myself in the magical world of Harry Potter and forget about the real one… This series is must read for anyone who enjoys fantasy, and will appeal to both young and old. It’s just magical!
