toptentuesday

The Broke And The Bookish presents us every week a new top ten with a different theme. And this Tuesday’s theme is the Top New Series I Want To Start. There are quite a few series I still have to start on my TBR, but these are the ones I want to start reading soon. In no particular order:

Teaser Tuesdays #17 – October 21st: One Day

teasertuesdays TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly book meme originally featured at Should Be Reading. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)

I know it seems like I have fallen of the radar for the last week or so… Life has been busy lately and with that reading time is reduced to the minimum; blogging time being almost non existent. I have been able to finish two books though, and I’m currently reading the third: One Day by David Nicholls. It’s nothing like my typical reads and quite refreshing… It’s about what happens to the two main characters Emma and Dexter on each July 15th during twenty years. The way their lives and friendship evolve makes it an interesting read, although the fact that they have the friends-who-are-sexually-attracted-to-each-other thing going on makes the story a bit cliche. I’ve read about 150 pages so far, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

They headed into the town, and coming up a narrow alley they suddenly found themselves facing the couple from the beach, red-faced with booze and sun, clinging to each other drunkenly as they tottered down the steps towards the harbour. They stared, bemused, at Dexter’s blue sacking mini-skirt.”
