WWW Wednesdays #18 – November 19th

Originally featured at Should Be Reading… WWW WEDNESDAYS is all about answering the following three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?

innocenceharrypotterandthegobletoffireI’ve started Innocence by Dean Koontz the other day, and although I do like the story so far, I’m wondering if the ‘complicated’ prose Koontz uses in this novel is what I need right now… So I decided to finally reread the fourth book of the Harry Potter series first: The Goblet Of Fire. I’ve always loved this one and I’m really looking forward to read about the tournament again.

  • What did you recently finish reading?

clockworkangelinterviewwiththevampireI finished reading Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice, and unfortunately I couldn’t appreciate the prose Rice used to tell her story. A full review will be up before the weekend, but what I can say for now is that the slow pace almost caused me to DNF this novel… Maybe a case of not-for-me? I’ve also finished Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare recently, which I did love. A full review has already been posted!

  • What do you think you’ll read next?

?I still have Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer lined up to fill the Green Cover square of the Bookish Bingo challenge… But it could also be a complete different title depending on my mood.

    • I’ve been having this problem a lot lately! I’m definitely going to read HP first so I can properly enjoy Innocence… It’s the first time I read something of Dean Koontz, but it seems like he writes some interesting prose.

    • Same here; I’ve only recently started reading Cassandra Clare’s work. I’ve read the first book of TMI series and now the first of TID trilogy as well… And so far I’m enjoying them.
Harry Potter has always been one of my favorites when growing up, and I’m enjoying rereading the whole series. I remember enjoying The Goblet Of Fire before; the second and fifth book are among my least favorite ones. 🙂

      • Is it not a big deal to read TID before finishing TMI? I figured it mattered, but if not, I want to start TID, because I have been told it is really good!
I have wanted to reread them for awhile, but I just haven’t found the time… there are just so many books I want to read.
That is so great; the fifth was always one of my favorites haha I love how people are so different.

      • I’ve only read City Of Bones so far, but I think you can go either way with the reading order. I personally like TID better, but the first book is different enough from TMI to be read and understood seperately.
My problem with book 5 is mostly Umbridge; I seriously can’t stand her character even though I’m a catlover myself hehe. I did love the rest of the story, but then again, I loved the whole series. 😀

      • That’s exactly one of the reasons why I want to reread the fifth book! I don’t remember how Rowling described Umbridge in the book and I’m ‘stuck’ with the horrible movie version. Who knows, I might even appreciate the book version more this reread! 😉

    • I’m normally not that big of a mood reader, but lately things have taken a turn for the worse…I’m going to wait a bit before continuing Innocence, mostly because I think that in a different mood I would probably enjoy it way better.
