TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly book meme originally featured at Should Be Reading. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)
I’ve finally picked up my copy of The Body Farm by Patricia Cornwell this week. It’s the fifth book in the Kay Scarpetta series, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it won’t be a big deal I haven’t read the first four. I do own a copy of the first book, but it is in Spanish and I wasn’t in the mood to read Spanish… It’s not the first time I read something written by Cornwell, and I sure hope that her fiction is better than her non-fiction. Her book about Jack The Ripper, Portrait Of A Killer, definitely left me unimpressed
“Marino!” I pulled him by the wrist as fear electrified every nerve in my body. Never had I seen him in such a rage. Dear Lord, I thought. Don’t let him shoot anyone.
What are you reading right now?
My mom reads Scarpetta too. I’m so jealous you can read so many languages! I just started Elemental Rancor. It’s good, but you were right about it being confusing with so many names!

It seems like the typical crime novel, but so far it’s exactly what I need. And I read mostly in English, probably because with everything else during the day I automatically use Spanish… Living in Argentina and all. 😉
Elemental Rancor is good, but yeah, a lot of different names to remember!

It’s been a while since I’ve read her books, but I think you should be fine not reading them in order. The early ones are her best, in my opinion. Here’s my TT: https://darcysbookblog.wordpress.com/2014/11/25/teaser-tuesday-nov-25/

Good to hear! I know I should read them in order, but it seems like one of those series where the order won’t matter… And I will probably not read the whole series anyway. 😉

I’ve become disenchanted with the Kay Scarpetta series, so I’m really interested in hearing what you think.I was so frustrated with Portrait of a Killer. Especially since Patricia Cornwell so arrogantly proclaimed she had definitively solved the case. Arrgghh 😦 😦 😦

Yesss that was SO annoying and definitely a complete turn off! I sure hope the Kay Scarpetta series turns out to be better than Portrait Of A Killer… I’m not that many pages into the book yet, but until now it seems like an ‘ok’ read; not a series I will continue reading.
