This is the second time I will participate in the Dusting Off The Shelf Reading Challenge, and I’m excited to join! This time, Emily @ Books & Cleverness has turned the read-a-thon into a yearly challenge; something that fits even better with my wish to start looking for quality, not quantity when reading. The Dusting Off The Shelf Reading Challenge is all about reading all those poor neglected books that have been on your shelves for too long… Check out her post for more information!
Since this challenge is similar to The Official 2015 TBR Pile Challenge, I will follow the same reading list for now. I might add new titles later on! 😀
And The Mountains Echoedby Khaled Hosseini (2013)REVIEWDoctor Sleep by Stephen King (2013)REVIEWThe Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (2013)REVIEWThe Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka (1915)REVIEWThe Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams (1979)REVIEW- Conversation In The Catedral by Mario Vargas Llosa (1969)
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett (1910)REVIEWInferno by Dan Brown (2013)REVIEWFrankenstein by Mary Shelley (1818)REVIEWI Am Legend by Richard Matheson (1954)REVIEW
Alternates:
11. The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger (1951) REVIEW
12. A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (1859)
That’s a great list!! I’m interested to see what you’re gonna think of Metamorphosis since it was required reading in my school and I remember being thoroughly confused about what the ef was going on. xD

Haha, required reading sometimes is not the best way to get to know complicated books… I’ve been wanting to read Metamorphosis for a while now, and I’m curious to see how confusing it is. 😀

Two of my most favourite books in there: Frankenstein and The Goldfinch. Hope you enjoy them too. X

Good to know! I’m looking forward to be finally reading them.

That’s a pretty nice selection of books there. Just saw a Twilight Zone epi written by Matheson last night. He was one of the more interesting writers for that show.

I haven’t read anything Matheson yet, although I’ve seen the movie version of I Am Legend… And I’m having the feeling that I will like the book way better.

This is a great idea! I hope you enjoy The Goldfinch- I read it last year and loved it! It’s a long one, but it’s absolutely worth every minute!

Good to know! There has been such a hype around this book that I’ve been afraid to read it until now… But I’m looking forward to finally pick up my copy!

Good luck! I failed at this last year lol. I’ve been meaning to read Hitchhikers and though I own I am Legend I don’t know if I want to read it (I didn’t like the movie, because I’m not fond of solo casts) I look forward to your review.

Me too, I’ve been wanting to read the older books on my TBR pile but normally I get distracted by newer purchases. 😉 I have the whole Hitchhikers series so I might try and read them all in one go so they won’t be collecting dust… They seem entertaining enough so we’ll see. And with I Am Legend I’m having the feeling the book will be way better than the movie…

I think she says in her post that there is time to sign up until the 10th, so there are still a few days left.

Love this list. I would like to get to the other books in the Hitchhiker series this year too. 🙂

I actually got the series instead of just the first book by accident! So I will probably try to read them all in one go…
