WWW Wednesdays #23 – January 7th

Originally featured at Should Be Reading, WWW WEDNESDAYS is all about answering the following three questions:

  • What are you currently reading?

14064My TBR jar this time gave me a better result with I Am Legend. This classic horror/SF story is more my cup of tea and I’m enjoying this novel by Richard Matheson so far. If I can find some free time today, I will probably finish it since it’s quite a short story!

  • What did you recently finish reading?

clockworkprinceclockworkprincessAfter first having read Clockwork Prince, I just HAD to read the final book in The Infernal Devices trilogy straight away. I mean, after the bombs Cassandra Clare drops on us in the last pages of book two, I just HAD to know what was going to happen next. Clockwork Princess did have too much romance in it for my taste, but I’m still glad to have finished my first series (trilogy) this year!

  • What do you think you’ll read next?

gonegirlgardensofthemoonI will probably either read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn or Gardens Of The Moon by Steven Erikson. I’ve been wanting to read both titles for ages now, and I think it is about time I finally pick them up.

    • I hope you had a great New Year as well! It’s actually summer here right now and quite hot hehe. I have to admit that celebrating Christmas when it’s hot still feels strange to me… 😉

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I definitely will after I’ve read Gone Girl! I’m starting it this evening and I can’t wait. 😀

    • I’ve heard so many great things about her work that I’m really excited to be finally reading Gone Girl! I will be checking out her other books as well; hopefully she is in the process of writing more as I type. 😉

      • Hm, it might be a while before we see the next book then. I guess that we’ll just have to wait and see if she gives out a release date or information at some point…

  1. I wish it was summer here in Northeastern U.S. right now. We’re in a “Polar Vortex” right now and it’s going to be -0 by morning with a wind chill of -30 degrees 😦 Anyway, I still have to catch up on the Clockwork series. I just started The Great Zoo of China by Matthew Reilly. I’m most looking forward to next Tuesday’s release of Saint Odd. It’s the last book in the Odd Thomas series and I’m hoping it’s a satisfying ending.

    • Wow that is VERY cold! I hate winter and cold so I’m lucky to have rather mild winters here in Argentina… And right now it’s almost too hot with temperatures between 30 and 40 degrees.
The Great Zoo Of China sounds like an interesting read! I need to check the Odd Thomas series as well; I’ve only read Innocence by this author so far and I want to read more of his work. 😀

      • I’m so jealous! I’m already sick of the terms “Polar Vortex” and “Snowmageddon” 😦 Anyway, The Great Zoo of China is a bit like Jurassic Park. I’m enjoying it so far. And Odd Thomas is one of the most awesome modern day literary characters created. The last couple of books have been a little off so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

      • I can completely understand, winter always makes me feel that way as well. The only good thing about winter are all those long cold winter evenings to read a lot of books with tea/coffee/hot choco. 😉
I really have to check out both the book and the series! They seem like something I would enjoy.

    • It is without doubt an interesting horror/SF read and SO much better than the movie! And I’m looking forward to be spending this evening with my copy of Gone Girl. 😀
