I can’t believe it’s February already! The first month of 2015 has flown away, and now it’s time to review the numbers. I’m going to do things slightly different this year and include an update for the different challenges I’m participating in as well. That way I won’t be having a dozen update posts wandering around. 😉
This year I’ve decided to take things slowly and bringing the focus back on simply enjoying books. Not that I don’t do that normally, but I guess I’ve taking high pressure away by not setting high reading or blogging goals. That said, I was actually able to get a higher page count than last month! I’ve been away on vacation so I haven’t been able to blog that much, but I will definitely try to make up for it in February. On to some quick numbers:
- Number of books read in January: 8
- Total number of books read this year: 8
- Total number of pages read in January: 2.928
- Total number of pages read this year: 2.928
Eight books is not a bad start considering I haven’t been able to read a lot during my two week vacation. It’s also 3 books ahead of the Goodreads reading challenge so that leaves some breathing space for the next months… A good thing since I will be trying to tackle some classics and books over 600 pages in the future. Below you can find a list of the books I’ve read so far this year going from favorite to least favorite. The last two reviews are still pending and will be posted within the next few days…
The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out Of The Window And Disappeared – by Jonas Jonasson (5/5)
- Clockwork Prince – by Cassandra Clare (4,5/5)
- I Am Legend – by Richard Matheson (4,5/5)
- Clockwork Princess – by Cassandra
Clare (4/5)
- Gone Girl – by Gillian Flynn (3,5/5)
- Paper Towns – by John Green (3,5/5)
- Charlie And The Chocolate Factory – by Roald Dahl (3,5/5)
- Tucker Peak – by Archer Mayor (3/5)
On to the challenges and other goals part! I’m currently participating in five all-year reading challenges and I’m still trying to fill the gaps in my Reading Through The Centuries challenge as well. To be completely honest, I haven’t been paying too much attention to the challenges yet. With eleven months still ahead to complete them, I guess there is still no pressure. I’m glad I was able to at least make some progress anyway…
# CHALLENGES #
Goodreads Reading Challenge: 8/60
The Official 2015 TBR Pile Challenge: 1/10
Dusting Of The Shelf Reading Challenge: 1/10
Bookish Bingo 2015: 10/45
2015 When Are You Reading? Challenge: 5/12
Reading Through The Centuries Challenge : 1/10
As far as the other reading and blogging goals I’ve set myself this year, the same thing happened. I haven’t been able to blog that much so I didn’t touch the older reviews and I’m behind on the new ones. Oops! I’m still far away from reaching my reading goals and my TBR pile is nowhere close to the 50 books mark. Which was kinda what I was expecting anyway haha. Fingers crossed I can get a lot of reading done in February!
# OTHER READING/BLOGGING GOALS #
- Read at least 5 classics: 1/5
- Finish rereading the Harry Potter series 4/7
- Complete at least 5 series: 1/5 (The Infernal Devices Trilogy)
- Bring my physical TBR pile below 50 books: 80/50
- Read at least one book over 800 pages: –

I guess they are quite a few, but since I will be having the whole year to complete them I’m not really feeling the pressure. 😉

Good luck with all your challenges. I’m only doing the Goodreads reading challenge because I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself, but everyone is different. 🙂 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a book I really enjoyed when I was little. It’s such a classic.

Thanks! I guess the main reason I’ve decided to set so many reading goals is that it won’t be that difficult to achieve by the end of the year… The most difficult ones will be the Bookish Bingo challenge, bringing my TBR pile below 50 and reading more Spanish books; the others I hope to finish with time to spare.
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and Roald Dahl’s books in general were my favorites when I was little. 🙂

I still have the most difficult eras ahead! I have no titles for the three oldest eras yet, but I’m sure I will find some interesting novels to read in the future. 🙂 Happy reading!
