When I woke up today I suddenly realized it was already March! Time is truly flying and the summer is about to end… The weather today seemed to agree and welcomed the third month of 2015 with a thunderstorm and a lot of rain. Boo! On the plus side, I was able to finish my current read and start a new one nestled in my favorite chair with a cup of steaming coffee… Something I will be enjoying a lot during the winter months for sure. Also, it’s time to officially wrap up February! Somehow this month is always too short, but I was able to read a fair amount of books anyway and reach one of my highest page counts so far. Yay! On to some quick numbers:
- Number of books read in February: 9
- Total number of books read this year: 17
- Total number of pages read in February: 4.062
- Total number of pages read this year: 6.990
Nine books with an extra book finished today is not too bad for this short February month! And the page count is actually over 4.000 which is probably a first… I guess I did have quite a lot of reading time after all, but I was also lucky with my reading choices. Below you can find a list of the books I’ve read so far this year going from favorite to least favorite. One review is still in the process of being written…
Doctor Sleep – by Stephen King (5/5)
- Beautiful Creatures – by Kami Garcia (5/5)
- The Ocean At The End Of The Lane – by Neil Gaiman (4,5/5)
- The Secret Garden – by Frances Hodgson Burnett (4/5)
- Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix – by J.K.
Rowling (4/5)
- Under Dark Skies – by A.J. Scudiere (4/5)
- The Catcher In The Rye – by J.D. Salinger (3,5/5)
- Beautiful Ruins – by Jess Walter (3/5)
- Allegiant – by Veronica Roth (3/5)
Like I said last month, I’m going to do things slightly different this year and include an update for the different challenges I’m participating in as well. That way I won’t be having a dozen update posts wandering around. I’m currently participating in five all-year reading challenges and I’m still trying to fill the gaps in my own challenge as well. I’ve made some progress in most challenges, although I’m still far away from completing any of them… But since all of them run until December, I’m not worrying too much just yet.
# CHALLENGES #
Goodreads Reading Challenge: 17/60
The Official 2015 TBR Pile Challenge: 4/10
Dusting Of The Shelf Reading Challenge: 4/10
Bookish Bingo 2015: 17/45
2015 When Are You Reading? Challenge: 5/12
Reading Through The Centuries Challenge: 4/10
With the other reading and blogging goals I’ve set myself this year I’m less succesful. While I managed to bring down by physical TBR pile a bit, it’s still nowhere close to the 50 mark… So I guess I will try to maintain the book buying ban for now. I still have to start reading books in Spanish and while I came close to the 800 page mark (796!), the fifth HP book wasn’t enough to actually cross off this goal. As far as the blogging goals go, I’ve started updating older reviews, but I still have to finish those I’ve never posted. Fingers crossed I will do better in March!
# OTHER READING/BLOGGING GOALS #
- Read at least 5 classics: 3/5
- Finish rereading the Harry Potter series 5/7
- Complete at least 5 series: 2/5 (The Infernal Devices Trilogy/ Divergent Trilogy)
- Bring my physical TBR pile below 50 books: 72/50
- Read at least one book over 800 pages: 0/1 (highest amount: 796 pages)
- Read at least 5 books in Spanish: 0/5
Join at least 5 challenges during the year- Finish older reviews that haven’t been posted yet: 0/10
- Update older reviews to new format: 5/32
Happy March and Happy Reading! 😀
Looks like you’re doing well towards your challenges given that it’s so early in the year! Sorry you’re going into winter – we’re just coming into spring… 😉

I’m surprised myself I was able to get this far with the challenges after only two months… It sure takes the pressure of the rest of the months. And you’ve suffered enough winter for two years! You deserve having spring around the corner; at least the winters here normally are not too bad… 😉
