Originally featured at Should Be Reading and now hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words, WWW WEDNESDAYS is still about answering the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
I have been reading Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige since yesterday and I’m absolutely loving it so far. I’m definitely going to try and finish it before the end of this month! Same goes for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows; I’m about 70% into the story and it’s incredible how many new details I’m discovering while I’m rereading this last book in the HP series!
- What did you recently finish reading?
I finished Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead the other day and I cannot say I enjoyed reading it. I guess cheesy vampire stories are just not for me, especially if the main character is such an arrogant pain in the ***… I also finished The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka for my TBR Pile challenge, a novel that was ok in general but not the influential classic I thought it would be. Luckily my current reads are better!
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Using my TBR jar a while back got me A Twist In The Tale by Jeffrey Archer, a book I can conveniently use for my Bookish Bingo Girly Geek challenge… It was written in 1988, the year I was born. 😀 I’m also looking forward to be finally reading Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan… I’ve heard mixed things about it, but it sounds like an interesting read.
I’ve been wanting to read Dorothy Must Die for ages! I can’t wait to see what you think of it 🙂

I agree 100% on Vampire Academy!! I normally like vampires but I couldn’t stand this book! The main character was completely obnoxious.

Definitely! She almost made me DNF Vampire Academy, and I almost never DNF a book… At least it means one series less to finish. 😉

That’s exactly how I felt!

I’m glad that you are really enjoying Dorothy Must Die! I have the novellas and the second book waiting on my bookshelf to be read! A Twist in the Tale sounds really interesting and I added it to my TBR. I’m also happy that it was published in 1988, because for the reading challenge I’m doing I need to read a book written in the year I was born, so yay! 🙂 Great post!

I’m definitely going to get the sequel once I’ve finished Dorothy Must Die! I love it so far. And yay for 1988! 😀 I’m going to use A Twist In The Tale for the same reason… Another famous 1988 is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, although I’ve already read it and it’s not really worth the reread.

I liked Vampire Academy overall, although I totally understand what you mean about Rose. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it! Harry Potter is always a good book to turn to for an enjoyable read. 🙂 Nice post! Here’s my WWW Wednesday if you want to check it out:
Happy Wednesday!

I don’t really like novels about vampires in general, so I guess I should have known I probably wouldn’t have liked Vampire Academy even before reading it. Still, Rose was really an annoying character. 😉 And it was great to finally reread the last HP book, it’s been too long and there were many details I didn’t remember.

Hope you’re enjoying the Harry Potter re-read! I’m enjoying my re-read even though I’ve taken a break from it. I hope you enjoy ‘Mr. Penumbra.’ It’s something I’ve been meaning to read. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

I’ve managed to finish the last HP book last night, and it was magical! It really showed that I haven’t read this one as many times as the previous books, because there were various details I didn’t remember… Mr. Penumbra has been on my list for a while now, so I’m looking forward to be finally reading it.
