“Rhysand stared at me for long enouth that I faced him. “Be glad of your humam heart, Freyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.”
I’m really enjoying the Throne Of Glass series so far, so when I heard Sarah J. Maas was going to start a whole new series I added it straight to my wishlist. I have read A Court Of Thorns And Roses together with those that participate in the #JuneAndRosesReadAlong… There’s still time to join if you want to! So what about A Court Of Thorns And Roses? I can say I’m liking this new series even better than Throne Of Glass! No love triangle, awesome main characters, expectacular worldbuilding and beautiful prose and descriptions… What’s not to love? I just wish I could visit the Spring Court myself; it sounds like the perfect place to live. (If you don’t count the possibility of dangerous creatures wandering around.) I’m a huge fan of both Feyre and Tamlin and I love the faerie world Sarah J. Maas created in this new series. I know this sounds much like excessive fangirling, but I think A Court Of Thorns And Roses is truly worth the hype. It will be such a long wait for the sequel though! Definitely and absolutely recommended for those who enjoy a good YA fantasy series.
Feyre’s father lost all his fortune years ago and with his damaged knee he is in no state to provide for his family… Forcing Feyre to hunt out in the woods so her family has food on the table. One day she believes she killed a huge wolf while hunting, but unfortunately it turned out to be something different than just a wolf. Feyre actually killed a faerie, and soon a beast-like creature comes to their home and claims she has to travel with him to the land of the immortal faeries as a retribution for the faerie’s death. The beast turned out to be Tamlin, one of the seven most powerful faeries and in charge of the Spring Court. Feyre has hated the Fae and their magic during all her life, but Tamlin makes it clear she isn’t a prisoner and soon she begins to warm up to both him and the other faerie Lucien. Things are not as they seem though and Feyre is in more danger than she realizes. Will she discover the truth before it’s too late for both Tamlin and his world?
First of all, I’m so glad there was no love triangle! Also, the main characters were pretty awesome and I absolutely loved the worldbuilding in A Court Of Thorns And Roses. It’s an interesting story full of action and the right dose of fantasy and romance. A mix between a Beauty And The Beast retelling and a faerie story… And one of my favorite reads AND new YA fantasy series this year. I will be waiting impatiently for the sequel!
Great review, I totally agree! This was an amazing book. As for where the love triangle is concerned, I think we all know that there will be one in the next book, however I personally am kind of intrigued by it; Rhysand is quite the character! 🙂 I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to forgive Sarah J. Maas for this one, don’t you think? We have to wait so long before the next book though… 😦

I’m still hoping she decides to do something different with Rhysand, but yeah, all the signs are there… At least Rhysand is an interesting enough character that will at least provide an interesting story. And I know! Such a long wait for the sequel… I’m not sure there is even an official publish date yet. 😦

Well, it’s okay to hope, isn’t it? (Insert tragic moment that destroys all hope forever here) 😛 Rhysand is definitely an interesting character, and I can’t wait to see how it will all be played out! 😀 It’s one of the things I dislike when reading a book whose sequel had not been released, lol. The wait for the next book is torturous!

Hahaha I think I will just have to prepare myself for another love triangle. 😉 I agree with you on the unpublished sequel thing; I normally prefer starting a series I can at least read the first two books of, but I just couldn’t resist with ACOTAR. Hopefully Sarah J. Maas won’t wait until the end of 2016 to publish the sequel!

Yep that would be the best idea I would say! Exactly, same here! I usually pick up a completed series, or a book that has at least 2-3 books released already (depending on what kind of series it is). But since this was ACOTAR, I just couldn’t help myself!! I really hope it doesn’t take long for Sarah J. Maas to release the sequel! ❤

I may shed a few frustrated tears if there’s a love triangle in the next book. I just..no.

I would prefer it if Sarah J. Maas decided to stay away from love triangles in this series as well… It’s really frustrating that almost all YA fantasy series have one included.

Yes! It’s almost becoming a pre-requisite nowadays.

I hate love triangles so that was enough to make me download the sample. Thanks!

I hope you enjoy it! There is some indication that there might be one in the sequel, but I still keep my fingers crossed Sarah J. Maas doesn’t follow up on it. 😉

Great review I can’t wait to read this one now! Just finished The Assassin’s Blade and I’m lining up Heir Of Fire to read soon but not too soon as I don’t think I can bear the wait for the next one! 😉

I hope you enjoy it! I’ve just finished The Assassin’s Blade today and even though I really like it, I think I prefer ACOTAR. And unfortunately I’ve already read Heir Of Fire myself, so it will be a long wait for the fourth book to be published… 😉

Cool I’ll definitely check it out then, thanks! 😃

Lovely review! I’m glad you enjoyed this one. I completely agree with you – it was a perfect mix of everything. I’m glad it didn’t end in a wicked cliffhanger, either, although I’m excited for book two!

Thanks! I agree; I’m glad there weren’t many questions left unanswered in ACOTAR, so that makes the wait for the sequel that much more bearable. Hopefully she won’t take to long in writing it!
