I’m really enjoying the Throne Of Glass series so far, so when I heard Sarah J. Maas was going to start a whole new series I added it straight to my wishlist. I have read A Court Of Thorns And Roses together with those that participate in the #JuneAndRosesReadAlong… There’s still time to join if you want to! So what about A Court Of Thorns And Roses? I can say I’m liking this new series even better than Throne Of Glass! No love triangle, awesome main characters, expectacular worldbuilding and beautiful prose and descriptions… What’s not to love? I just wish I could visit the Spring Court myself; it sounds like the perfect place to live. (If you don’t count the possibility of dangerous creatures wandering around.) I’m a huge fan of both Feyre and Tamlin and I love the faerie world Sarah J. Maas created in this new series. I know this sounds much like excessive fangirling, but I think A Court Of Thorns And Roses is truly worth the hype. It will be such a long wait for the sequel though! Definitely and absolutely recommended for those who enjoy a good YA fantasy series.

Feyre’s father lost all his fortune years ago and with his damaged knee he is in no state to provide for his family… Forcing Feyre to hunt out in the woods so her family has food on the table. One day she believes she killed a huge wolf while hunting, but unfortunately it turned out to be something different than just a wolf. Feyre actually killed a faerie, and soon a beast-like creature comes to their home and claims she has to travel with him to the land of the immortal faeries as a retribution for the faerie’s death. The beast turned out to be Tamlin, one of the seven most powerful faeries and in charge of the Spring Court. Feyre has hated the Fae and their magic during all her life, but Tamlin makes it clear she isn’t a prisoner and soon she begins to warm up to both him and the other faerie Lucien. Things are not as they seem though and Feyre is in more danger than she realizes. Will she discover the truth before it’s too late for both Tamlin and his world?

First of all, I’m so glad there was no love triangle! Also, the main characters were pretty awesome and I absolutely loved the worldbuilding in A Court Of Thorns And Roses. It’s an interesting story full of action and the right dose of fantasy and romance. A mix between a Beauty And The Beast retelling and a faerie story… And one of my favorite reads AND new YA fantasy series this year. I will be waiting impatiently for the sequel!
