“I have a glitch, too. Sometimes I forget that I’m not human. I don’t think that happens to most androids.”

After reading and absolutely loving Cinder, I just had to learn more about the main character’s world. I decided to read all three novellas leading up to the sequel before starting Scarlet… The first one is Glitches, and tells us more about the life of the main character and cyborg Cinder in the years before the first book. It’s a really short novella, but it reveals some interesting facts about her past and Marissa Meyer‘s writing style is as good as ever. I think this one is my favorite of the three novellas I’ve read so far! Recommended if you like the main character of The Lunar Chronicles and want to learn more about her. It will only take you a few minutes of your time to read it and it’s definitely worth it…

Cinder was involved in a hoover accident when she is eleven and doesn’t remember anything from her life before the accident. She woke up an orphan AND a cyborg, and she is now a second-class citizen… Her stepfather is determined to protect her, but her stepmother can’t stand looking at her. Luckily she has one of her stepsisters who tries to be her friend. But all things change when her stepfather catches the disease that is slowly killing the whole population. Left with her coldhearted stepmother, she has no other option than making herself useful…

It’s a supershort novella, but I still enjoyed reading Glitches. Marissa Meyer explains more about Cinder’s past and it helps you understand her character better. It’s a quick read and the best out of the three novellas I’ve read so far. Definitely recommended to those who loved Cinder and have some spare time to dive back into Cinder’s world!
