WWW WEDNESDAYS is hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below. This week I’m trying out a slightly different format! 😀
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I started Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas on a whim yesterday because I wasn’t happy with my other current reads. So far I’m definitely enjoying it better than the rest of the titles… It’s actually the second time I’ve started The Wrath And The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, and somehow I cannot seem to get a proper feel for the story. It’s not that I don’t like it, so maybe I’m just not in the mood for it right now. I’ve also started The Knife Of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, a book I’ve been wanting to read for ages. I’m not sure what to think of the prose, but the plot is interesting so far. And as far as The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt goes… No progress at all this week. I really have to stop starting new books and read at least a few chapters! Currently I’ve only read about a third and I really want to finish it this month.
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I managed to read no less than 6! books since my last WWW post. I guess the fact that it has been raining for about every day means I have been having a lot of free time to read…
I first finished Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, a ‘heavy’ read with a very original dialogue between the main character and the girl on the tapes.
I then couldn’t resist any longer and read Blood Of My Blood by Barry Lyga. It’s the third book of the Jasper Dent series and I absolutely loved it! So many plot twists, awesome characters and brilliant prose! Barry Lyga is definitely one of my new favorite authors.
I started Seriously Wicked by Tina Connolly on a whim afterwards, looking for a light read. I was mostly disappointed by it; boring characters, mediocre prose and a not so credible plot.
Dash & Lily’s Book Of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan was a lot better, although I have a feeling I would have enjoyed it even better during the Holiday season. But since it was a book club read, I didn’t have much choice picking the date. 😉
I’ve also read The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. Finally! I’ve had this one on my TBR for ages… I enjoyed this read, especially the prose, but not as much as some others might have.
The last book I’ve managed to finish this week is You Are My Sunshine by Roberta Kagan. I wanted a proper historical fiction read after being disappointed by Masquerade a while back, but I wasn’t a fan of this novel either. Bland characters, a weak plot and the prose was not so great either. Such a shame, because I normally love WWII historical fiction!
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
I have Rarity From The Hollow, an ARC sent by the author Robert Eggleton, next on the list to read as soon as I finish my current reads. I also want to try and read The Death Cure by James Dashner so I can finish one more series (although I have a copy of The Kill Order as well)… And I’m looking forward to start The Martian by Andy Weir soon since I’ve heard great things about it. And I REALLY should read The Kings Of Cool by Don Winslow soon, because it was my TBR jar pick ages ago and I still haven’t picked it up…
Well done on getting through so many books this week! I loved More Than This by Patrick Ness so am keen to read more by him 🙂

Thanks! I’m really looking forward to The Martian; so many people seem to love this read! The Jasper Dent series is SO good; without one of my favorite reads this year. 😀

I picked up a copy of The Knife of Never Letting Go a couple of weeks ago so I’m hoping to read it quite soon. The Martian is up for me next! Hopefully I’ll have read it by next week – we can compare notes! 🙂

I’m about a third into The Knife Of Never Letting Go and although I don’t like some of the ‘slang’ used, it has a fast pace, interesting plot and it’s very intriguing in general. I can’t wait to finish it! Hopefully I will be able to read The Martian this week as well. 🙂

Wow, you are killing it on the reading this week! Well done! I’m really excited that you’re reading Dangerous Girls. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you finish. Sometimes timing is everything – I’m sorry The Wrath isn’t working for you. I got a copy of The Knife of Never Letting Go earlier this week – can’t wait to try it! I’ve never read anything by that author. I’m looking into the Barry Lyga books right now. Does the first book end on a cliffhanger?

Dangerous Girls was awesome. I mean, that ending! This book seriously messed with my head… But in a good way. The Knife Of Never Letting Go is pretty good so far… I Hunt Killers doesn’t exactly end with a cliffhanger, although it’s a pretty easy guess how the sequel will start. Game has a pretty big cliffhanger though!

So many great books mentioned in your post! 🙂
I’ve been wanting to read The Knife of Never Letting Go. I have a hold at the library, so I am waiting for that.
I should be starting The Wrath in a couple of days. I’m dragging out Blood of My Blood, because I don’t want it to end lol!
I hope you enjoy all your next reads! They sound good!
The Death Cure was really good, but I wasn’t that happy about the ending. I loved The Kill Order more than some of the other books in the series.

The Knife Of Never Letting Go is pretty good so far; I’m definitely enjoying it better than The Wrath… I guess I’m just not in the mood for that one. Blood Of My Blood was SO awesome, but I understand why you don’t want it to end. 😉 It’s really sad to have to say goodbye to Jazz and his friends…
Good to know about The Kill Order! I might read it together with The Death Cure so I finish the series once and for all. 😉

I started The Wrath and the Dawn last night and I had a bit of the same problem that you are having with it. I kept putting it down while I was having a Twitter convo with Ashley and just didn’t know what was going on in the book. Now that I’m 100 pages in though I am really loving it and can’t wait to have more time to read later today. I definitely need to check out the I Hunt Killers series since you and Ashley both are raving about it!

It’s so good to know that The Wrath is getting better! I’m going to try and sit down later today so I can get to the point where it’s no longer confusing haha. The Jasper Dent series is definitely worth checking out! 😀

Oh yes! Their dialect was so different, but eventually grew on me. Manchee was so adorable with his ‘dog talk’. Enjoy! =D

I’m starting to get used to it as well… And I agree, I love the fact that animals ‘talk’. 😀

I really liked Dangerous Girls. The first time I picked up The Wrath and the Dawn it took me ages to get started but once I had I flew through it, really love that book!
