WWW WEDNESDAYS is hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I’ve started Liars, Inc. by Paula Stokes yesterday evening and it’s still too early to tell if I’m going to enjoy this story… I’ve heard mixed things about it, so fingers crossed it’s not too bad. I’m also reading Melophobia by James Morris, a very interesting ARC and story so far.
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Three books finished this week and that’s mostly thanks to the last two being super quick reads, because it took me ages to finish Winter.
* The first is Winter by Marissa Meyer. Although I’m sad the series has ended, I really enjoyed reading this fourth book My heart almost stopped at some points in the story though; damn you plot twists!
* I decided to read my TBR jar pick Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple afterwards, which turned out to be a quick although not outstanding read. More about my complaints in my upcoming review…
* The last book I finished yesterday evening: Between Shades Of Gray by Ruta Sepetys. A very hardbreaking story, although I wasn’t fully convinced by the prose itself (it sounded too childish, and not in a The Boy In The Striped Pajamas good way.)
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
To be honest, I’m not sure what I’m going to read next… But at least these four covers color match! 😉 I might read The Death Code by Lindsay Cummings so I can cross off another series or start a new one with The Young Elites by Marie Lu. But to be honest, I’m not sure if I’m in the mood to read fantasy right now. I also want to try and read Paperweight by Meg Haston soon even though it sounds like a sad story… And I have a new TBR jar pick: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I have been wanting to read another Gaiman novel for ages so this is the perfect excuse to do just so!
It’s a shame Where’d You Go, Bernadette didn’t live up to your expectations. Still a lovely cover though…

Where’d You Go, Bernadette is quite entertaining and funny at points, but I did have some issues with it… I guess part of the problem is that I’m not really into the genre though. 😉

That’s another one you’ve tried out of your comfort zone, good on you for that 🙂

I think that’s mostly because I’m suffering from a slight fantasy overdose right now… I’m trying to read a few books of a different genre so I can get over it. 😉

Winter was so good! Shame the series is over though…
I’ll look out for your thoughts on Neverwhere. I’m reading The Ocean at the End of the Lane at the moment and I’d like to read something longer by Gaiman. Neverwhere could be a good option.

I loved Winter, but I’m sad that the series is over… I hope Marissa Meyer will write a novella about Thorne after finishing The Princess And The Guard. 😉 The Ocean At The End Of The Lane is my favorite Gaiman so far, although I really enjoyed both American Gods and The Graveyard Book as well. I’m looking forward to find out if Neverwhere is just as good!

I read Neverwhere last month; and while it’s not my favorite Neil Gaiman book so far, I enjoyed it a lot. Very imaginative, in a creepy and sometimes comical way.

I really liked Where’d You Go To, Bernadette, but I have read quite a few negative reviews.

I’ve just finished writing my full review, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s mostly the characters and cliche descriptions that bothered me… I did like the general plot and loved their journey to Antarctica.

I’m intrigued by Liars, Inc but have also heard mixed reviews, I hope you end up enjoying it. I really want to read Paperweight too, I’ve heard good things about it.
Thanks for stopping by my www post earlier 🙂

I ended up being in the mood for a ‘lighter’ read so I’m putting Liars, Inc on hold until tomorrow… It’s not bad so far, but like you I have seen mixed reviews so I don’t want to set my expectations too high. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Paperweight though.

I hate when a series ends. It’s always hard to face!

Very true! It’s always sad to say goodbye to your favorite characters.

I’ve heard good things about the Lunar Chronicles and about Winter in particular! I think I’m going to add the series to my TBR 🙂
Thanks for visiting my post earlier. Happy reading! 🙂

I think the first book Cinder is still my absolute favorite, but I enjoyed all four books. The novellas are entertaining as well, although not as good as the main series… Happy reading! 🙂

Thanks for sharing about ‘Between Shades of Grey.’ Maybe going into it knowing the prose is a bit young will help me like it. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

The story is quite heartbreaking, but once I got over the ‘young feel’ of the prose I really enjoyed how it was narrated. Happy reading and thanks for hosting!

I just got Liars, Inc a couple days ago 🙂 I really want to read the Young Elites soon! I’ve had it since the beginning of the year and haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. So many good books in your post! 🙂

I have been wanting to read The Young Elites for ages as well! I’m not in the mood for fantasy right now, but hopefully I will be able to read it soon. I’m not too far into Liars, Inc. yet, but hopefully I will end up belonging to the group that did like it. 😉
