Now I have recovered from New Years Eve and wrapped up the December month, it’s time to think about my reading goals for 2016 before I decide what my favorite 2015 reads were. I still can’t believe I have almost doubled the amount of books and pages read in 2014 last year, and I don’t pretend I will be able to reach that amount again… So I have decided to not stress myself and keep my challenges reasonable. These will be my goals:
READING:
- I have set my Goodreads Reading Challenge to 100 books. I know that is 85 books less than in 2015, but we’ll see how it goes.
- Read at least 5 classics (rereads don’t count)
- Complete at least 5 series (rereads don’t count)
- Reread at least 3 books
- Bring my physical TBR pile below 200 books and keep it that way.
- Read at least one book over 800 pages
- Read at least 5 books in Spanish
- Join at least 5 challenges during the year
BLOGGING/LIFE:
- Finish older reviews that haven’t been posted yet: 0/10
- Update older reviews to new format: 0/14
- Update more frequently and try not to get too behind with reviews (example: I still have to write the last five reviews for last year… Oops!)
- Be more active in the community and try to comment more. I always try to, but somehow it is hard to find enough time to read, blog AND comment on the blogs I follow…
- Participate in a 5km run! Trust me, for me this would be a miracle. 😉 I’m currently at 2km and counting…
These seem like great resolutions – although I don’t know how you can read 185 books in a year! Teach me your secret, O great one. 😀 The second to last one is one that I know I should also make, because I’m super bad at commenting. I’m guilty of just pushing the like button after reading and moving on to the next one, so I want to change that in 2016. Good luck with your resolutions and I hope youl have a wonderful year!

Haha I still don’t know how I managed either! Although I did read a lot of YA last year… I always want to read and comment every post but I follow so many blogs that I simply don’t have the time… That doesn’t stop me feeling guilty about it though. At least I always respond to comments though. 😉

Good luck with all of your goals! 🙂 I definitely need to get my physical (and e-book) TBR down A LOT! I definitely hope to work on that this year!

Thanks! My owned-but-not-read pile is basically hopeless haha; the number is currently stuck at 255 but I made myself a promise to delete some kindle freebies to bring down the number a bit… Because a book buying ban just wouldn’t work. 😉

Haha I know! I’m currently at 255 unread books, but hopefully I will bring down the number at least a little. 😉

I feel you most strongly on the ‘be more active in the community’ goal. It’s the thing i find most difficult, but, as this comment is hopefully proving, i’m trying more already this year!
Good luck with your other goals. I think 100 books in one year sounds like a crazy (awesome) amount, but i’d never make that unless i only ready very short or graphic novels.

I always try to comment, but it’s really hard to find time to both read, blog and read other posts… But like you, I at least want to try. 😉 And after reading a ridiculous amount of books last year, I’m hopeful I will reach at least 100 books again this year… Reading a lot of (short) YA novels does help a lot.

I too need to go back and reformat my reviews (plus some still did some writing). I’m so bad at writing reviews immediately after reading, then I forget to do it! XD Hope you make good one your goals, they all look great!

I mostly procrastinate when it comes to reviews as well, and then end up forgetting the exact details of the book. xD Hopefully I will be able to catch up soon and keep up with them.

I’m excited to be running again! I used to ‘speedwalk’ mostly, but running is way more satisfactory… Hopefully I will be able to reach the 5km injury-free. 😉 Happy New Year!
