Teaser Tuesdays #81 – February 16th: All The Light We Cannot See

TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly book meme originally featured at A Daily Rhythm. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)

I’ve finally started reading All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, although I haven’t been having much time to properly enjoy it (and I wanted to finish some other reads first). What I can say for now is that I love the prose and descriptions so far, and I’m really looking forward to read another WWII story. It should be a great read, especially since it won the Pulitzer Prize…

My teaser (3%):

“Deliberately, almost lazily, the bombers shed altitude. Threads of red light ascend from anti-air emplacements up and down the coast. Dark, ruined ships appear, scuttled or destroyed, one with its bow shorn away, a second flickering as it burns.”

What are you reading right now?

    • I have been putting it off for a long time because I was afraid it was going to be too ‘pretentious’, but the prose is simply beautiful so far. Fingers crossed it stays good though!
