WWW WEDNESDAYS is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I started both my current reads yesterday evening, so there’s not much to say about them other than that I have been looking forward to read both. Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley has been recommended to me numerous times, so hopefully it’s just as good as I have been told. And I have been looking forward to pick up Ice Like Fire ever since I finished the first book; I love the worldbuilding of this series!
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
* After quite a few disappointing reads I decided to pick up one of my guilty pleasure books: Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Although I normally don’t like vampire stories, this series has turned out to be an exception. I loved the True Blood TV series and this first book is just as entertaining.
* Another book I really enjoyed was The Bookshop Book by Jen Campbell. It can read a bit slow at points, but I loved reading about all those amazing-sounding bookshops all over the world. It really made me wish I could open my own bookshop one day…
* I read Apple And Rain by Sarah Crossan as well. After enjoying One earlier this month I was looking forward to read more of her work, but unfortunately this one wasn’t as good. I liked the poetry bits, but the story itself was not that interesting.
* The last book I finished was Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia. I read and enjoyed the first book last year, but the sequel didn’t really manage to convince me. It’s quite a fast read and still entertaining, but the introduction of a love triangle or two and Lena acting the way she does didn’t exactly make me enjoy it as much as the first book.
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
I have been saying I want to read Random by Tom Leveen for weeks, so I should just pick it up soon… But I might just give in and read A Darker Shade Of Magic by V.E. Schwab next (and the sequel A Gathering Of Shadows). If I’m not in the mood for fantasy, I have Stolen by Lucy Christopher on my list as well. I’ve heard great things about it, so I’m looking forward to finally pick it up. My new TBR jar pick is The Conspiracy Of Us by Maggie Hall.
I really enjoyed the True Blood TV series (I think I only saw 3 series though) too. I’m sure the books are great fun.
I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of ADSOM and AGOS. I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.

I haven’t seen all the True Blood seasons either, but I really loved the first few. The first book was really similar to the TV series and without doubt entertaining.
I’m really looking forward to finally start A Darker Shade Of Magic! I’m going to start reading it as soon as I finish Ice Like Fire. 😀

I am so happy to know that you liked The Bookshop Book. I have been waiting for your final verdict and I am glad that it is positive :-). I look forward to adding the book to my TBR. I envy your reading, you have read so many wonderful books while I have only read one since last Wednesday.
Happy reading and Happy Wednesday.

If you love bookshops in general, The Bookshop Book is a great read. It’s not an actually story and more a mix of random facts and bookshop stories, but really entertaining. Happy reading and I hope you’ll enjoy your books this week! 🙂

I’m currently reading One! I have Apple and Rain coming up soon too, so I shall remember what you say and not go in with too high expectations! I hope you have a great reading week!

I hope you are enjoying One! Apple And Rain is different from that book since the story is mostly normal prose with a few poems thrown in… A bit childish and the story itself wasn’t that interesting, but I loved the poems. Have a great week as well! 🙂

I picked up The Bookshop Book when I was in a bookshop recently as I was quite intrigued but I didn’t buy it. I was a bit put off thinking it would just read like a travel guide or a reference book…please feel to correct and entice me!! 😉

The Bookshop Book does take you on a worldwide bookshop tour, but the bookshop descriptions are mixed up with author interviews, random facts and other interesting bookshop stories that definitely make it worth reading. 🙂

Sounds like one I’ll probably reserve from the library, thank you for your insight!

I really enjoyed watching True Blood on TV but I only read the first couple of books, I think I got side-tracked and then never got back to them. I hope you continue to enjoy them. It’s a shame Apple and Rain wasn’t as good as One, I still have both on my TBR so really must try and get to them soon.
Hope you enjoy your reading this week 🙂

I’m not sure how far I will go with the Sookie Stackhouse series either, but I have an e-copy of the first four and see how things go from there. If you want to try Sarah Crossan, make sure to read One first… I really liked the prose and story. Happy reading!

I cannot wait to read The Bookshop Book, and Apple and Rain is on my “maybe” list, I can’t decide if I want to read it or not…

The Bookshop Book is really good! And Apple And Rain is not that interesting, although I liked the poetry. Her other book One is a lot better!

Then I’ll check her other book, too! 🙂 Thank you

Glad to see you’re planning on starting A Darker Shade of Magic soon! I hope it lives up to all the hype we’ve been giving it, haha! The Conspiracy of Us does sound interesting, but I might wait to see your thoughts before adding it to the TBR.

From what I’ve seen in the reviews, A Darker Shade Of Magic will be something I will definitely enjoy! 😀 I wasn’t 100% sure about The Conspiracy Of Us either, but since it’s my new TBR jar pick I’m going to read it soon anyway. 😉
