TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly book meme originally featured at Books And A Beat. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)
I have been reading this one for a while, but that’s mostly because I don’t have a lot of spare time to read in the first place. A Study In Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro is actually a really fast-paced and entertaining Sherlock Holmes retelling I’m looking forward to continue soon! Hopefully I will be able to actually finish it today…
My teaser (47%):
“Oh, she was brilliant. Like a hurtling comet you couldn’t look at dead on without burning your retinas right off. Like a bioluminescent lake. She was a sixteen-year-old detective-savant who could tell your life story from a look, who retrofitted little carved boxes with surprise poison springs early on a Saturday morning when everyone else, including me, was asleep in their beds.”
What are you reading right now?
Great teaser. I love retellings but don’t think I’ve come across a Sherlock Holmes one yet. Can’t wait to see your review.

I think there are a few recent Sherlock Holmes retellings around, although I can’t seem to remember the titles right now… This one is definitely good so far though.

It definitely shows she is related to Sherlock Holmes; her character description is really well done and it’s a really entertaining read so far.
