WWW WEDNESDAYS is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I started reading Empire Of Storms by Sarah J. Maas a few days ago despite the mixed reviews, and I think the warnings have paid off because I’m enjoying this fifth book better than I thought I would so far. I’m also about to start another pending ARC: Ivy Feckett Is Looking For Love by Jay Spencer Green. So many pending books, so little time!
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I’m not going to mention all the books I’ve finished since my last WWW post because that would be a looooong list haha. I’m glad to be back!
* The first book I finished since last week is Trouble Is A Friend Of Mine by Stephanie Tromly. This book was recommended to me in the past and while the whole plot and story was a bit too absurd and unbelievable, somehow I still managed to enjoy reading it. I’m not sure if I actually like the main characters though…
* I then read one of my ARCs: Engaged By Danger by Barbara Venkataraman. It’s the fourth book of a cozy mystery series and definitely just what I needed. The perfect easy and entertaining read for fans of the genre!
* I also finished We’re All Mad Here by Claire Eastham, which I requested on Netgalley on a whim. It turned out to be a really interesting read that is both easy to read, funny and has some interesting pointers for those who want to learn more about social anxiety. (As an introvert, I could really relate to some of the author’s stories.)
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
I need to tackle my ARC pile ASAP, so I’m going to try and read both Faithful by Alice Hoffman and Lemon Sting by Collin Henderson next. I also want to read Ink And Bone by Rachel Caine; a series that has been on my wishlist for quite some time now. A Court Of Mist And Fury by Sarah J. Maas is still my latest TBR jar pick… I know, I know: I should have read that one ages ago, but somehow I haven’t been feeling like rereading ACOTAR first even though I loved it the first time around.
I have really got to start Empire of Storms soon. I’ve been deliberately staying away from all reviews for fear of spoilers but I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it. I’ve never actually read ACOTAR for some reason, think I just tend to avoid reading more than one series by the same author at the same time.

I wasn’t going to read ACOTAR at first either for the same reason, but ended up enjoying it even better than Throne Of Glass… I haven’t read the sequel yet partly because I’m afraid those feelings will be ruined. 😉 And I have been avoiding Empire Of Storms reviews for the same reason. Hopefully you will be able to read it soon!

I’m’ surprised you haven’t read ACOMAF! I haven’t had the desire to continue with that series. Yet. Maybe some day. Enjoy your reads this week!

I’m kind of afraid ACOMAF will ruin things for me for the series… I have been posponing it for ages now, and I will probably be doing the same for a while longer. 😉 Happy reading!

I’m glad you’re enjoying Empire of Storms. I think if you go in with lowered expectations, the experience is better. That said, ACOMAF is better! 🙂
I’ve had Ink and Bone of my TBR forever. I really need to get round to it…

I’m definitely glad I saw your warning before I started Empire Of Storms… Or else I probably would have been disappointed by the romance after only a few pages haha. I need to get to ACOMAF at some point as well, but with the pile of other books I need to read I don’t think it will be before November. So many books, so little time… 😉

I’ll be watching for your Ink and Bone review. I tried to read that, but couldn’t get into it. Maybe I need to give it another try. Happy reading!

I really need to read the rest of the Throne of Glass series! I’ve only reread the prequel “The Assassin’s Blade” so far.

The Assassin’s Blade was probably my least favorite of the bunch… My favorites would probably be book two and three, although the whole series is worth the try. 🙂

Glad you’re enjoying Empire of Storm. I still haven’t started the series because the reviews are always so mixed.
I also have Ink & Bone and ACOMAF on my TBR. I’m hoping to get to at least one in October…
Happy Reading ❤

I actually put the series on hold for several months after reading Throne Of Glass since it didn’t convince me, but the sequels are a lot better. And I’ve heard so many great things about Ink And Bone! Hopefully we’ll be able to read it next month. 🙂 Happy reading!

I’m hoping to read Ink and Bone within the next couple of months. I just bought it last month since I kept hearing it was really good and the sequel came out recently as well. Hope you enjoy your reads! 🙂

Hopefully we will be able to get to it soon! I’m actually planning on reading the sequel straight after if I like the first book. Happy reading!

I hope you like Ink and Bone! I really enjoyed it. I love the cover of Faithful, but I have a few too many ARCs at the moment to request any more. Hope it’s good, though! I haven’t read any Alice Hoffman before but I have a couple of her earlier books on my TBR.
Thanks for visiting my WWW. 🙂

Good to hear you enjoyed Ink And Bone! And I haven’t read any other Alice Hoffman titles yet either, but I’m looking forward to Faithful. If it’s just as good as the stunning cover, I will be buying a physical copy for my shelves. 😉

I enjoyed Empire of Storms! Honestly, it was slow the first 250 pages but I was okay with that because I at least got to revisit some of my favorite characters. I actually didn’t really like Aelin in this book, but LOVED Elide and Manon. Also, ACOMAF is brilliant. I hope you love it 😊

I agree! I prefer Elide and Manon so far as well. The whole Aelin, Rowan thing is just a bit blah. Good to hear you loved ACOMAF! I really should make time for it soon.

Welcome back to WWW. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed most of your recent reads. Trouble is a Friend of Mine has an interesting title.Glad you enjoyed it despite the issues that you had with the plot and the characters. Enjoy your books this week. Happy reading:-)

Thanks! Trouble Is A Friend Of Mine is still an entertaining read despite the flaws… And it’s kind of impressive how the author first came up with the plot in the first place. Happy reading!

In this case it definitely helped me prepare for the unwanted romance scenes… 😉 Happy reading and thanks for hosting!

I feel you about EoS – I read Claire’s review first and that definitely prepped me. It also probably helps that I’m more interested in WHERE the series is going than devoted to it.
Happy reading!

I still have to finish Empire Of Storms… I feel like a total failure haha. It’s just that the Aelin-Rowan thing really turns me off, even though like you I want to know what is going to happen.
