WWW WEDNESDAYS is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
Basically, I’m still reading the same books from last week plus a new one. Oops?! I guess it shows I was away for the weekend… My main focus is The Bitter Side Of Sweet by Tara Sullivan, which is turning out to be a really interesting and fast-paced read. As soon as I have finished that one, I will continue with Ivy Feckett Is Looking For Love by Jay Spencer Green. I’m only a few pages into that one, so not much to tell so far. I also still need to finish Empire Of Storms by Sarah J. Maas. I’m enjoying it better than I thought I would, but the whole Aelin-Rowan romance is really starting to get on my nerves.
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
* The first book I finished is actually a cookbook that caught my eye at Netgalley: But My Family Would Never Eat Vegan! by Kristy Turner. Although I could never give up meat (or cheese!) completely, I always try to prepare vegetarian/vegan meals at least two or three times a week… And this cookbook is a little goldmine! The descriptions and introductions to the recipes are hilarious as well, and there is a lot of extra information ‘special’ ingredients and how to prepare them.
* The other title I managed to finish is Safe With Me by K.L. Slater. I’m having mixed thoughts about this one. When I first started reading it, I was sure I was going to give it the highest possible rating… But as the plot twists and unlikeable characters evolved, I started having second thoughts. Everything is almost too absurd (especially during the final part of the book) and it just didn’t seem believable at all. It didn’t help that I couldn’t connect to the main character either. The ending was supposed to be a mayor plot twist, but I kind of already saw part of it coming?
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
I’m waaay behind with my ARCs, and next up are two books I’m looking forward to: The Best Friend by Shalini Boland and Dark Water by Robert Bryndza. I’ve really enjoyed reading the work of both authors in the past, so I can’t wait to start reading these new titles! I also want to read The Coldest Girl In Coldtown by Holly Black to get into the Halloween mood, and A Court Of Mist And Fury by Sarah J. Maas is still my latest TBR jar pick (and will be for a while longer I’m afraid).
The Bitter Side of Sweet is such an intriguing title! I’m happy to hear your enjoying it. 🙂

So far it’s definitely a great read and a nice change after reading so many thrillers. 😉

Bummer that Safe with Me ended up being a dud. The cover had me for a minute! You always have such a well-rounded selection of books going on. I love it!

Most people seem to love Safe With Me, so most likely the problem was me and not the book. It was all a bit too farfetched to be credible for me… And I like reading different genres, but mystery/thriller is still my absolute favorite. 😉

I still need to read A Court of Mist and Fury too. I’ve been putting it off and I’m not sure why since I loved the first book.

Same here! It might just be that I have to read ACOTAR first and I don’t have the time right now with so many pending ARCs, but I’m also kind of afraid the sequel will be ruined by a love triangle…

Yeah, I might have to reread it too. I may see if my library has the audiobook available.

Like the sound of the cookbook. I tend not to eat a lot of meat so would be good to get some new ideas and recipes.

If you need some new recipes this cookbook is a little goldmine! Lots of easy recipes I’m really looking forward to be trying out soon.

Yeah I am still reading the same books from last week too. Though I’ve started new ones as well so featured those in my post today haha 😀 http://www.curious-daisy.com/www-wednesdays/www-wednesday-october-5-2016/

I really should finish the books I started last week, but somehow I keep ending up trying to finish some Netgalley reads instead haha. I just finished The Bitter Side Of Sweet and now I’m trying to force myself to finish the other two first before starting something new. 😉

Holly Black is a name I keep seeing, but haven’t read yet! I think this is something I have to rectify.
Looks like a great stack of books you have lined up here!
Happy Reading 🙂

Don’t feel bad; I haven’t read any of her work either except for the short story in My True Love Gave To Me. A lot of people seem to enjoy her work so it seems about time I finally read it. 😉 Happy reading!

The Bitter Side of Sweet sounds interesting. Now I need to go to Goodreads and check out what it’s about. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve just finished The Bitter Side Of Sweet and it’s without doubt worth the read. It’s about two young brothers who are forced to work on a cacao plantation and very well written. 🙂

I am hoping to read A Court of Mist and Fury and Empire of Storms next! I read The Coldest Girl in Coldtown for halloween last year and I liked it but I almost think it works better as a short story? Hopefully you will enjoy it!

I like how vegetarian/vegan recipes help add variety to what we eat, even though I could never give up meat and especially cheese completely. Happy reading and thanks for hosting!

Sad too hear that Safe with Me isn’t all that. I have it on my TBR and had really high hopes. I I hope to read it before publication date though.I can’t wait to read Dark Water, I hope it will be a great read. I am so jealous that you got the new book by Shalini Boland. I can’t wait it anywhere. I hope that it will be a great read though. Enjoy all your books this week. Happy reading:-)

I was one of the few who didn’t love Safe With Me, so you will probably end up enjoying it better than I did. And I can’t wait to read Dark Water and The Best Friend! Happy reading and enjoy your books this week. 🙂

I love the title of The Bitter Side Of Sweet, so interesting! I’m glad you’re enjoying 🙂 Haha, Maas goes so heavy on the romance, this is one of the reasons I like the series but I don’t love it. Sorry Safe With Me did not work for you. I will be reading it soon (hopefully…). I hate it when a plot is just to obvious and the big twists I expected turn out to be not so big and not so surprising. It takes the fun away.
Happy reading!

The Bitter Side Of Sweet is such a great story! It’s about two young brothers who are forced to work at a cacao plantation; both very intriguing and sad at the same time. And I can definitely understand why you wouldn’t love Sarah J. Maas because of the romance; in a way I’m afraid to pick up ACOMAF because I’m almost sure the romance will spoil it for me. 😉 Happy reading!
