Teaser Tuesdays #123 – January 17th: Those Who Lie

TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly book meme hosted at The Purple Booker. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)

I’m currently reading one of my pending Netgalley ARCs, Those Who Lie by Diane Jeffrey, which is coming out the end of this month. It’s turning out to be a very enjoyable psychological thriller with an interesting amnesia angle and lots and lots of twists! The main character is not that likeable, but the whole story is without doubt intriguing.

My teaser (15%):

“Does she blame me for Greg’s death? Am I to blame? Emily feels her shoulders tense. Is there any chance he’s still alive?”

What are you reading right now?

    • I agree it’s definitely been a popular angle lately… In Those Who Lie luckily the focus wasn’t too much on the amnesia and rather on the other mental problems the main character had, so it wasn’t too bad. The ending was a bit predictable, but overall it was an entertaining read. 🙂

    • I definitely agree, there seem to be coming out a lot of books with amnesia used as a ‘plot twist’ lately. This one is quite entertaining, and luckily the amnesia didn’t play that big of a role and the focus was rather on the other mental problems the main character had. (spoiler: she had a VERY messed up childhood).

    • This one doesn’t have amnesia playing that big of a role in the end, but if you love amnesia stories I can definitely recommend The One Memory Of Flora Banks. I loved LOVED that story!
