WWW WEDNESDAYS is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I’m currently about to finish one of my pending Netgalley ARCs: The Yellow Envelope by Kim Dinan. I was really looking forward to this travel memoir, but it sort of fell flat for me. Rather than a true travel memoir, this story has mostly been a (rather self-centered) description of the author’s failing relationship with her husband and feelings; definitely not what I expected at all and not as enjoyable to read… I’ve also started History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera, which I will continue as soon as I finish the memoir. I’m so excited to be finally reading it!
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
* YESSSS!!! I’ve finally been able to read A Conjuring Of Light by V.E. Schwab, the final book in one of my all time favorite fantasy series. And it sure didn’t disappoint; I loved every single minute of this third book and I still sort of have a book hangover (the fact that I didn’t really like the next three books I picked up didn’t help either). I’m going to miss this fictional world and its characters; luckily I have my own little Delilah Bard to keep me company now. 😉
* I also read The First City by Joe Hart, another final book in a trilogy… And I had a really hard time finishing this one. I’ve never liked the main character Zoey, but in this third book she is becoming almost impossible to tolerate. I’ve seriously considered DNFing it at various points… Her self-centered, annoying and whiney dialogues and actions made this read into a true struggle. The other POVs were slightly better, although I’m not too sure about the plot either. The ending is ok enough I guess.
* The last read I finished is Rose Petal Graves by Olivia Wildenstein, which started out interesting enough and I liked the general idea behind this story (faes and fae hunters). That said, this turned out to be yet another YA fantasy series destroyed by a… yes, you can already guess… a freaking LOVE TRIANGLEEE!!! I’ve become seriously allergic to them, and all these forbidden love interests and love triangles just made me enjoy the story a lot less. Also, the main character changes ‘teams’ constantly and it’s not really realistic.
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
Next up are two more ARCs… The horror story Silence Under Screams by Collin Henderson has been on my list for way too long already, so I’m hoping to finally read it this week. I also need to read Blood Moon by John David Bethel. After so many ARCs, I’m hoping to finally read more of my own books as well, and both Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken and Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult are high on my list.
You can also find me at Goodreads. Twitter. Instagram. Bloglovin’.
This reminds me that I am yet to read Jodi’s book yet it was on my March TBR. I hope that you will get a chance to read it. Enjoy all your books this week. Happy reading.

I think I had it on my January TBR already, so you’re not at all behind. 😉 I’m hoping to read it soon though! I’ve heard great things about Small Great Things.

I’m in the mood for creepy reads right now, so I will probably read those two ARCs next. Although I want to read Small Great Things as well… It’s going to be a tough decision for sure.

Bummer about the love triangle. That book sounds so good too.

I always hate it when a love triangle puts a damper on a potentially interesting story…

I like the sound of Rose Petal Graves but I’m sorry the love triangle ruined it for you. I don’t hate love triangles but it also depends. I might give this one a try. And I’m so so happy you enjoyed ACoL! I’m currently reading it and yes, I’m loving it so much!!

In general I hate love triangles, but there are a few exceptions where I don’t mind them… Unfortunately this wasn’t one of them though. And I’m so glad to hear you are enjoying ACOL!

Why are you reading when you have a kitten to play and snuggle with??
Woohoo for History is All You Left Me. Hopefully that’ll be the book to get you out of your hangover. I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.

Haha she is definitely taking away reading time from me demanding attention, but she lets me read while she naps on my lap. 😉 I’m definitely hoping History Is All You Left Me is another winner after three mediocre reads! So far it has all the right signs.

I completely understand DNFing books with whiny characters. UGH. It’s like, by the 3rd book shouldn’t they have progressed into a more mature character? For sure annoying 🙂 But … I actually like love triangles “hides” if they are done well. Switching sides back and forth though is stupid. Lol. Here’s my WWW post https://authorswilliams.wordpress.com/2017/03/29/www-wednesday-march-wrap-up/

I guess the supposedly ‘selfsacrificing’ heroine was ment as part of her character, because it has been consistent throughout the three books… And you’re lucky to like love triangles, especially since so many series seem to have one. 😉 I tolerate them when they are done right and in a few cases I even liked them, but it’s definitely an exception.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about History is All You Left Me. And I’m glad ACOL finished the series on a high note for you! True story: I was reading it on the bus the other day after seeing your photos on Instagram, and there was a moment when Lila walked into the scene and my brain provided me with a mental image of your cat rather than the character. 😛

Hahaha that’s hilarious! Little Lila invaded your brain. xD The real Lila will probably be a lot better during the fighting scenes though. 😉 And I love History Is All You Left Me so far! I’m hoping it to finish it before the end of the month. Happy reading!

I’m sorry that all of your books since ACoL have been not so good. Hopefully History is All You Left Me will break that mold and help you get over the book hangover.

History Is All You Left Me definitely made up for it! I still miss the Shades Of Magic characters, but I guess I’m ready for new awesomeness. 😉
