Those who follow my blog regularly have probably realized by now this year has been all about my ARCs so far… I have a huge backlog of ARCs and I’ve been slowly trying to scale the ARC mountain, and it does show in my reading numbers. More than 70% of the books I’ve read so far in 2017 have been ARCs!! I do love my ARCs, but I feel like I’ve been neglecting all those poor non-ARCs on my TBR pile for way too long now… So I decided to sit down, browse my owned books and compile a list of the fifteen titles I want to get to first. They are from a mix of different genres and both new and older releases; here we go!

- Heartless by Marissa Meyer (453 pages) (published in 2016)

Great list! A few on here that I still need to read too. I’ve been requesting ARCs more again and I have three approved so far that I need to read and I already feel overwhelmed again hahahah. So I can only imagine what you feel like if you have a big backlog of them!

*cough* Somehow I have 17 *cough* xD I’m totally joining you with the overwhelmed feeling! But there are just so many titles I couldn’t resist requesting… I do hope I will be able to get to at least a few of these non-ARCs soon though.

You can include one or two non-ARCs to your monthly TBRs. That way you’re not only reading ARCs and you can still get to your own books too.

Good list. Most I’ve read. My boyfriend reads the Pierce Brown series and loves it! I didn’t care for The Woman in Cabin 10.

Interesting your thoughts on The Woman In Cabin 10! I have yet to try this author and it’s good to see a different opinion… And that’s great to hear about Red Rising; I’ve been wanting to pick up the series for years now, but hopefully not for much longer.

I’ve read Room and I See You; Room is a very weepy one and I See You has a great twist, so I think you’ll enjoy both of them. I’m also reading More Than This at the moment, it’s a strange concept but it seems alright so far! Good luck with your TBR!

That’s great to hear! I’ve been meaning to read that one for way too long though and it sounds like a beautiful read, so fingers crossed I will be able to get to it soon.

I think I have a lot if the same books on my list. Of the ones I have read I’d definitely recommend More Than This and Red Rising. I wasn’t so keen on Ready Player One or Stardust (rare case of film being better than book).

I’m reading Red Rising within the next three months no matter what happens haha. I can’t wait to finally dive into that series! And I’m worried about Stardust now, which I was going to read during the readathon next week. It definitely doesn’t happen often the movie is better than the book!

It may just have been me with Stardust. It was a quick and easy read but I think I just kept comparing to the film (which I’ve watched a lot). This is why I usually try to read the book before watching the film.

I’ve read Ready Player One (which I loved!), Aristotle and Dante (powerful message) and Bird Box (which was SO weird and which you HAVE to read!). Good luck with your ARCs! My mountain is also growing uncontrollably 🙊

I’m familiar with many of these but have only read one, The Light Between Oceans. I loved it! Hopefully you’ll get to throw one in from time to time.

It’s great to hear The Light Between Oceans is so loved; I still can’t believe I haven’t picked it up after so long. I’m definitely going to try and read at least half of these by the end of Autumn.

The only one of these I’ve read is Heartless, but I loved it! Be prepared to start craving baked goods though, hahaha.

The mountain of ARCs was one of the reasons I decided to make myself a list of other books I wanted to read… I’ve been focusing so much on my ARCs that it was hard to remember what other books I also wanted to get to soon. xD Good to hear you enjoyed both of them! I’ll probably pick Room first since it’s easier to read non-thrillers whenever I take a break from my ARCs… Although I really want to get to Ruth Ware’s book soon as well.

Sharon Bolton is brilliant, my favourite crime author. The Light Between Oceans is so so good, there’s a film of the book out now that is also well worth watching.

I have heard nothing but great things about Sharon Bolton’s work and I still can’t believe I haven’t read any of her books yet… I’m definitely going to make that a priority. And one of the reasons I want to read The Light Between Oceans is so I can watch the movie as well.

Great selection of books! I loved Ready Player One – I put it off for so long because I wasn’t sure it was for me and then I adored it. I also love Sharon Bolton so recommend Now You See Me off your list. Well done on reading so many ARCs this year – you definitely deserve some time to read your own books now. That’s probably one of the reasons I keep posponing it as well, but I’m definitely hoping to pick it up some time soon. Although I’m probably going to try Sharon Bolton first! I still can’t believe I haven’t read any of her books yet and it’s one of my favorite genres.

I think you’ll love Sharon Bolton – she’s such a great crime/thriller writer. Some of her books put me on edge but I can never stop reading them. I’m looking forward to reading what you think. 🙂

Some fabulous reads on this list! I also really want to read More Than This and Ready Player One. The ARC thing is tricky, hey? I’m, in the same boat in that I reached a point where I wasn’t finding time to read anything else, which sucked because there are so many older titles I want to read too. I’m making an effort to mix it up a bit more now and I’m enjoying my reading much more.

Yeah, I can totally relate to that. I love my ARCs, but it’s starting to feel too much like required reading and that takes some of the joy out of reading. Good to hear mixing up is working for you! I’m going to try and read as many ARCs as possible this month so I can start doing the same next month.

I’m definitely reading The Bird And The Sword soon, although I might wait until I have a copy of the sequel so I can read both. 😉 And I still can’t believe I haven’t picked up Black-Eyed Susans yet! The only one I can vouch for is Stardust! I love Neil Gaiman and, while Stardust is not my favourite of his, it’s a wonderful little book! Otherwise, most of the others are also on my TBR!

I’m picking Stardust up this week during the readathon, so I will be looking forward to it. I’m sure Neverwhere and The Ocean At The End Of The Lane will stay my favorites, but I’ve seen the movie and the story has potential. 🙂 Happy reading!

Ahhh so many of these are on my TBR! Especially Red Rising, Ready Player One, and Strange the Dreamer.
I’ve read The Light Between Oceans (I struggled emotionally with this book. I think it is a good book, but it hit me hard), Aristotle and Dante (I had a hard time with the first 60% of the book, but the last 40% is worth it), and Stardust (one of my favorite books! It’s a lovely adult fairytale)

Loved “I let you go” by Clare Mackintosh and “Now you see me” by Sharon Bolton. I recommend you begin with those.
