August turned out to be a busy reading month and despite trying to take a break from blogging, I can’t say I was able to relax much… I blame the #NEWTsReadathon2019 haha. August was the month of a fantastic buddy read with Nicki (The Willow Woman), lots of baking, enjoying the winter sunshine and garden preparations. I’m hoping next month will be more relaxed though! And I’m more than ready to welcome the Spring season…
Now to the bookish numbers:
- Number of books read in August: 24
- Total number of books read this year: 181
- Total number of pages read in August: 8.403
- Total number of pages read this year: 60.650
August turned out to be another excellent reading month and I read way more books than expected, mostly thanks to the NEWTs Readathon. I also found myself not one, not two, but THREE new 5 star reads! On top of that, FIVE other fantastic titles were given the almost perfect rating… Oh yes, I definitely got lucky last month.

I have quite a few challenges going on in 2019, but I feel all have doable goals I’m managing to work on without trying too hard. Yes – it’s fascinating how our reading styles change, depending upon the format, isn’t it?

You had an excellent reading month!! Oh, and I see you also read 29 Seconds. You enjoyed it much more than I did 🙂

I was on the fence with 29 Seconds because while part of me enjoyed it, I also found the harassment appalling and certain aspects including credibility let me down a bit…

Sounds like such a fab month! So happy that I have read all your 5 star reads and rated them just as highly as you did. Your rating of I am Malala is one that I can relate with. It is one of those books that are hard to criticize but as much as the story was inspiring, I didn’t like the writing.
I hope your September will be even better!

That’s so great to hear, both about the 5 star reads and I Am Malala… I felt so guilty for not enjoying it as much as I thought I would, but the writing truly put me off. Here’s to a wonderful September! xx

Wow looks like you definitely had an excellent reading month! I really want to read Darius the Great Is Not Okay. I’ve had Stalking Jack the Ripper on my TBR for a while. I was pretty underwhelmed with The Dream Thieves too.

I can really recommend Darius The Great Is Not Okay! I really liked that one and loved the setting. Good to know I wasn’t the only one who was disappointed with The Dream Thieves. 😉
