10 series I want to read/catch up with in 2020

Let’s talk about series! I confess it’s not the first time I put together one of these posts, and I confess they haven’t always been all that successful… But I hope that putting together this little post will help me focus on at least a couple of the series I want to read/catch up with during 2020. Somehow, I have an enormous pile of series I either want to start or need to continue; with so many options it can get overwhelming and I usually just end up reading stand-alones instead. BUT. I’ve decided to compile a list of 10 series I really want to read before the end of 2020, hoping that singling them out will make me actually read them for a change haha. It’s a mix of thriller and fantasy, and I really do hope to get to at least half of these by the end of the year.

So which series do I want to make my priority? Sorted in alphabetical order by the last name of the author:

#1. Katherine Arden – Winternight Trilogy

I’ve been meaning to read this trilogy for ages now! I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about it and I’ll be looking forward to binge-read it during the upcoming winter months.

#2. Chelsea Cain – Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell

I really enjoyed the first two books of this series and I’m still not sure why I haven’t read the other four yet… Hopefully in 2020.

#3. Steve Cavanagh – Eddie Flynn

I loved Thirteen when I read it last year, and I’ve been meaning to catch up with the rest of the series ever since… With book number five, Fifty-Fifty, coming out later this year, I really need to do so soon.

#4 Will Dean – Tuva Moodyson Mystery

I’ve heard fantastic things about this series and with book three just out I thought it was about time I finally catch up.

#5. Helen Sarah Fields – D.I. Callanach

I’ve had this series on my radar for a long time now, and with each book coming out it is becoming harder and harder to catch up… I’m determined to do so before the end of 2020 though.

#6. Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) – Cormoran Strike

I read the first book six! years ago, but somehow I never actually picked up the sequels… With book five coming out later this year, I really should finally catch up.

#7. Stephanie Garber – Caraval

I’ve had this series on my radar for a long time now and I hope to finally read it during 2020!

#8. Cara Hunter – DI Adam Fawley

I’ve been meaning to read this series for a while now as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it… With book four recently having come out, it’s about time I catch up before I fall even more behind.

#9. Stephen King – Bill Hodges Trilogy

It’s been six! years since I read the first book Mr. Mercedes and to be honest I wasn’t too impressed back then… But I still want to read the other two books so I can cross one more series off my unfinished series list at least.

#10. Ransom Riggs – Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children

I really enjoyed the first book when I read it five! years ago, so I’m still not sure why I haven’t continued this series yet. I’m getting further and further behind so I really need to step up my game and catch up in 2020!

Have you read any of the series I want to read/catch up with in 2020? Any suggestion which series I should read first? And do you have any series you want to catch up with no matter what during 2020?
