Let’s talk about series! I confess it’s not the first time I put together one of these posts, and I confess they haven’t always been all that successful… But I hope that putting together this little post will help me focus on at least a couple of the series I want to read/catch up with during 2021. Somehow, I have an enormous pile of series I either want to start or need to continue; with so many options it can get overwhelming and I usually just end up reading stand-alones instead. BUT. I’ve decided to compile a list of 10 series I really want to read before the end of 2021, hoping that singling them out will make me actually read them for a change haha. It’s a mix of thriller and fantasy, and I really do hope to get to at least half of these by the end of 2021.

So which series do I want to make my priority? Sorted in alphabetical order by the last name of the author:

#1. Ben Aaronovitch – Rivers Of London (Peter Grant)

I started this series a while ago and even though I have physical copies of the next four books, it’s taking too long actually picking them up… I hope to catch up by the end of 2021 though.

#2. Will Dean – Tuva Moodyson Mystery

I enjoyed the first book of the series, so I really need to read the other two books soon.

#3. Helen Sarah Fields – D.I. Callanach

I’ve had this series on my radar for a long time now, and with each book coming out it is becoming harder and harder to catch up… I’m determined to do so before the end of 2021 though.

#4. Stephanie Garber – Caraval

I’ve had this trilogy on my radar for a long time now and I hope to finally read it during 2021!

#5. Meg Gardiner – UNSUB

Another series I’ve been meaning to start for ages… These sound brilliant!

#6. Cara Hunter – DI Adam Fawley

I’ve been meaning to read this series for a while now as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it… I really need to start reading it so I don’t fall any further behind.

#7. Jay Kristoff – The Nevernight Chronicles

I’ve been meaning to read this series for ages and I hope to finally do so in 2021! A bonus is that it’s actually a finished series so no book releases to wait for.

#8. Ransom Riggs – Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children

I really enjoyed the first book when I read it six! years ago, so I’m still not sure why I haven’t continued this series yet. I’m getting further and further behind so I really need to step up my game and catch up in 2021!

#9. Carlos Ruiz Zafon – El Cemeterio De Los Libros Olvidados

The Shadow Of The Wind is one of my all time favorites so I’m still not sure why I haven’t continued this series yet… 2021 will change this! I’m not sure yet whether I will read the sequels in Spanish or English first though.

#10. Karin Slaughter – Will Trent (& Grant County)

I finally read the first Will Trent book this month, and I’ve made a promise to myself to read at least one book each month so I catch up before the end of 2021… And as I’ve been told to read Grant County too to avoid spoilers, that will be a grand total of 15 books in total. (And the reason I haven’t added all covers to this post xD)

Have you read any of the series I want to read/catch up with in 2021? Any suggestion which series I should read first? And do you have any series you want to catch up with no matter what during 2021?
