We’re already well into the sixth month of 2021, practically halfway through the year, and it’s made me think about all the books I’ve been able to read so far this year (118 books at the time of scheduling this post) and just how many I ended up enjoying (76 books were 4 stars or higher). And I thought: why not put together a post with my favorite books so far this year? Easier said than done, as there were a LOT of books I wanted to mention, so what started as a Top 10 ended up being a Top 21 instead. There is no such thing as too much when it comes to book love in the first place, or am I wrong? 😉
First of all, there were a total of six titles that managed to receive the magical 5 star rating so far, which is basically an A++ reserved for new all time favorites. Two of these were actually rereads so I won’t count them, and below you can find the four beauties that were new additions to my list of all time favorites (in alphabetical order by the author’s last name, as there is no way I’m picking favorites between these).
I cannot recommend these titles enough! All four are absolutely fantastic reads and I love that they belong to a selection of different genres too. That said, there will be 17 further titles/authors on this list, all 4,5 star ratings and brilliant reads for different reasons. Again, these will be in alphabetical order by the author’s last name as I’m not picking favorites between these. (this post is too long as it is to add snippets of my reviews haha).
10. The Life We Almost Had by Amelia Henley
11. Smoke Screen by Jorn Lier Horst & Thomas Enger
12. The Woman With The Blue Star by Pam Jenoff
13. Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica
14. The Islanders by S.V. Leonard
These 21 titles are my absolute favorites out of the 118+ books I’ve read so far this year! Do we share any favorites? What are your favorite books so far this year?
