WWW WEDNESDAYS is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.

I’m currently reading The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix, which I’m super excited about as I keep hearing fantastic things. I haven’t had much time to read recently (combine lots of DIY and painting walls with the lingering slump and you get an idea why), but I do hope to get more reading in during the rest of the week… Unless the second AstraZeneca dose hits me as hard as the first this upcoming Friday that is. xD I’ll also be starting most anticipated release Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid; fingers crossed I will actually able to finish both soon.

1. The Humans by Matt Haig (4,5/5 stars) REVIEW 26/09
Matt Haig‘s books haven’t let me down yet, so I’m not sure why I haven’t picked up more of his backlist titles yet to be honest. I’ve been meaning to get to The Humans for years now, and I’m very glad my TBR jar thought it was time to finally read it… Because I ended up having a fantastic time with this story. Sci-fi can go both ways for me and I’m normally not a big fan of aliens in my sci-fi when I do read the genre, but The Humans turned to be another exception to that rule.

2. The Mistletoe Pact by Jo Lovett (2/5 stars) REVIEW 28/09
Right… I definitely didn’t expect to end up having this reaction to The Mistletoe Pact. I loved the sound of the blurb and it seemed like it would be a perfect Christmassy and light romcom to read in between my thrillers; sadly, the actual story is by no means the fun and uplifting holiday read it seems to promise to be. There is a saying that if you don’t have anything nice to say, better say nothing at all… So expect my upcoming review to be short.

Next up it’s time for another dose of DI Kim Stone with Dying Truth by Angela Marsons; I’m not sure if I can actually catch up before the next book comes out, but I hope to at least reach the double numbers in the series before then. Afterwards it’s another sequel with Foxglove Summer by Ben Aaronovitch; I’m really enjoying this series so far and I’ve been looking forward to return to this world. Then I should probably read I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver as it’s one of the final books I need to complete the Beat The Backlist Bingo challenge… And I mostly likely won’t be able to get to newest TBR jar pick Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson any time soon (especially considering the slow pace I’ve been reading in lately).
