Let’s talk about series! I confess it’s not the first time I put together one of these posts, and I confess they haven’t always been all that successful… But I hope that putting together this little post will help me focus on at least a couple of the series I want to read/catch up with during the rest of 2022. Somehow, I have an enormous pile of series I either want to start or need to continue; with so many options it can get overwhelming and I usually just end up reading stand-alones instead. BUT. I’ve decided to compile a list of 10 series I really want to read before the end of 2022, hoping that singling them out will make me actually read them for a change haha. It’s a mix of thriller, romance and fantasy, and I really do hope to get to at least half of these by the end of 2022.

So which series do I want to make my priority? Sorted in alphabetical order by the last name of the author:

#1. Julie Caplin – Romantic Escapes

I’m having fun with this series so far, and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the books.

#2. Thomas Enger – Henning Juul

I’ve recently read the first two books, and I hope to read the remaining three some time soon.

#3. Helen Fields – D.I. Callanach

I’ve had this series on my radar for years, and now I’ve messed up and read the ARC of book seven first, I’m determined to go back and read the first six books soon. I’ve actually planned a series binge-read in April so fingers crossed.

#4. Amy Harmon – The Law Of Moses

These are some of my final pending Amy Harmon backlist titles! I was a bit worried if these particular books would be for me, but since I enjoy the romance genre so much more now I hope that won’t be a problem anymore.

#5. Cara Hunter – DI Adam Fawley

I’ve been meaning to read this series for a while now as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it… I really need to start reading it so I don’t fall any further behind.

#6. Ragnar Jonasson – Dark Iceland

I started this nordic noir series over a year ago, but somehow never made it past the first two books… I hope to read the rest of them before the end of 2022.

#7. Jay Kristoff – The Nevernight Chronicles

I’ve been saying that I need to read this series for years now and I hope to finally do so in 2022! A bonus is that it’s actually a finished series so no book releases to wait for.

#8. Carlos Ruiz Zafon – El Cemeterio De Los Libros Olvidados

The Shadow Of The Wind is one of my all time favorites so I’m still not sure why I haven’t continued this series yet… Hopefully 2022 will change this! I’m not sure yet whether I will read the sequels in Spanish or English first though.

#9. Karin Slaughter – Will Trent

I’ve finally finished the Grant County books, so now it’s time to return to the Will Trent series… I hope to have fully caught up by the end of 2022 (I guess it depends on how often Lena pops up as she was the main reason it took me this long to finish the Grant County series).

#10. Michael Stanley – Detective Kubu

I loved both the setting in South Africa/Botswana and its main character Kubu in the first two books, and I hope to finally continue this series in 2022.

Have you read any of the series I want to read/catch up with in 2022? Any suggestion which series I should read first? And do you have any series you want to catch up with no matter what during 2022?
