Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Marlene @ Reading Reality and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Soooo… What has been the ARC damage since my last STS post two weeks ago? It’s no surprise that I haven’t been able to stay away from Netgalley… And when the newest sequels of two detective series I’ve been following became available, they made their appearance on my kindle before I could even think about the consequences. xD I’m also very excited about the approval for the newest Helen Fields stand-alone as she is quickly becoming one of my favorite thriller authors.
Soon after I saw the newest A.R. Torre was a Read Now and while I had my doubts about the cheating element, I do love her writing style so I snatched a copy anyway. Then, the invitations for the HTP summer blog tours arrived in my inbox, and I couldn’t resist signing up for a couple… With the mystery/thriller blog tours, I couldn’t say no to Never Coming Home as it sounded interesting with the POV from the villain. I also signed up for Nadine Matheson’s sequel, but I don’t have a copy yet as the widgets will be sent out in May.
The historical blog tours were even more tempting as I’ve been meaning to read more of the genre, and all three titles below sounded like WWII historical fiction with a refreshing angle I haven’t read about before. I also got an invitation to read As Seen On TV, and there was just something about the blurb that made me want to read it despite the fact that I’m already drowning in ARCs. xD
Of course that was not all, as I was (against expectations) actually approved for Wishtress… I don’t read YA fantasy all that often, but I’ve enjoyed her writing before and between that stunning cover and intriguing blurb I couldn’t say no.
Last but not least a rare audiobook request and approval, mostly because I couldn’t wait to read the new Adrian McKinty and I was only able to request an audio version. I didn’t expect to be actually approved to be honest, but I’m excited to give audiobooks another shot.
