I had originally decided to include this feature in my monthly wrap ups, but I just felt there were too many facts squeezed into one little post and the whole purpose of putting my favorite reads in the spotlight was lost. So this is me giving those favorites their well deserved extra attention! July ended up being an excellent month and I even got a new 5 star read! On top of this, I also had no less than 7! nearly perfect ratings… But the 5 star read made it easy to pick a favorite this time around. So without further delay, July’s favorite is: *drumroll*

Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney!! I always love a good locked room mystery, and this story definitely delivered for me It turned out to be an atmospheric and simply brilliant thriller with a locked room vibe and a major twist that packs a punch.

“I’m a sucker for a good locked room mystery, and this story basically pays homage to the classic And Then There Were None. The isolated Cornwall private island setting is the perfect backdrop for this story, and the stormy weather only adds to that ominous vibe. ”

“There was just something about the writing style that hit the mark perfectly, and combined with the pace, suspense and eerie atmosphere I literally couldn’t stop reading..”

There were seven titles with a 4,5 star rating, belonging to a nice mix of genres. I basically loved them all and I couldn’t narrow it down further, so I decided to share all seven with you all.

What I said in my review:

“I do get why Nine Lives isn’t for everyone, because there are so many different POVs and characters to keep track of and it can be a bit of a struggle in the beginning. I found them to be quite easy to keep apart though, and once I got used to the flow of the story and the constant jumping between the different characters I was completely hooked.”

“The pace is fast and while I had my suspicions about who was behind it, I never guessed the full truth. All in all Nine Lives was definitely a highly entertaining and thrilling read for me.”

“The plot is completely bonkers, not exactly credible and way over the top, but it is ment to be this way and I loved every single minute of it.”

Local Girl Missing is already book number fifteen and the feeling of having a shiny new Josie Quinn hanging out on my kindle never gets old. And to make things even better: of course this sequel turned out to be yet another brilliant read!”

Things can be said about the credibility of it all, but Local Girl Missing is well worth the read for its entertainment level alone!”
