Stacking The Shelves #83 – April 20th

Stacking The Shelves is hosted at Tynga’s Reviews and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I’m a huge fan of Amy Harmon’s books, so of course I squeeled and hit that Read Now button on Netgalley even before I read the blurb… This time around it’s time for a scifi-fantasy story and I’m really looking forward to it. Amy Harmon is one of the few authors that can really pull of writing more than one genre. ❤

I also won a giveaway on Instagram and will be receiving a physical copy of one of my favorite Amy Harmon books! ❤ (What The Wind Knows, The Smallest Part or Making Faces) I left the final decision to the host as I love receiving surprise mail and I enjoyed all three of these equally. ❤

And yes, this ended up being an Amy Harmon themed Stacking The Shelves. xD I have no regrets as she’s one of my favorite authors! She can write a shopping list and I would still want to read it. ❤

I know I probably shouldn’t have, but you all know by now some titles are just too hard to resist… I was invited for the blog tour of The Escape Room which is running from July 30th to August 13th, which means a little breathing space before I need to get to it and I just HAD to join. Looking forward to this one!

I also couldn’t resist Dead Inside when I saw it was up for grabs as a Read Now on Netgalley. I mean, I love seeing a fellow bookblogger getting her book out in the world and the story sounds fantastic, so there’s no excuse not to hit that button even though I’m swamped with reviews already, right?

BD Birthday #bookhaul

I mentioned before I ordered some books for my birthday last month, and they finally arrived last week! I already shared them on Instagram, but I thought I would show them on my blog as well, today being Stacking The Shelves day and all. 😉

So what did I get?

I got five books in total; two impulse buys and three titles I’ve been meaning to read for a while now… More details below.

I know I shouldn’t have, but somehow I found myself saying yes to not one, but TWO blog tour titles for the month of May… To my defense, both sounded fantastic and I just couldn’t resist them. Whoops?

I was doing pretty well not getting new NG books this week, but then I saw the new The Collector book was a Read Now and I hit that button before I saw it coming. I love this series, so I don’t really mind and I’m so excited to have book number four on my kindle! ❤

So I haven’t been behaving too bad when it comes to new ARCs, although I did forget to mention last week I received an ARC of Bright Burning Stars for the blog tour I signed up for a while ago. Due May 17th, so thankfully I’ll have some spare time before the deadline arrives…

I was also invited by the author to read I Know You and while I have a superbusy schedule already I just couldn’t resist that blurb. Whoops? Then I saw two more titles I couldn’t resist and hit that request button before I could stop myself… And guess what? I was approved as well. Afterwards I just HAD to request the new Dee MacDonald as well because I absolutely adored The Getaway Girls last year. So of course I’m at 20 pending titles again. xD

Stacking The Shelves #78 – March 2nd

I was doing well not requesting new titles, but then an older request came through as well as a new auto-approval of the same publisher! There was just something about Fat Angie: Rebel Girl Revolution that made me want to read it, and while I didn’t realize it was actually a sequel, I was keeping fingers crossed it can be read as a stand-alone. Sadly I ended up DNFing it though.

I also couldn’t resist the new Lottie Parker book… Plus, since I’m up to date with the series it’s only logical to want to read the next one early and not fall behind, right? xD I requested the new Josie Quinn book for the same reasons, but that one is still pending so far. EDIT: my request was actually approved today so I’m adding it to this haul. 😉

And I’ve seen The Fever King around and it sounds really good (plus, that cover! ❤ ), so of course I had to hit that request button even though I should know better. Especially since it was released yesterday and it means yet another book I need to read no matter what in March. xD

I also completely forgot to mention I won a giveaway recently on Twitter! The lovely @sdavreads had a 2019 contemporary romance giveaway close to Valentine’s Day and I can’t believe I actually won!! ❤ ❤ The first book I could think of was the upcoming release The Boy Who Steals Houses, and she was so kind so place a preorder for me. ❤ I can’t wait for it to be April and finally read this one!
