Bout Of Books 19: Goals and TBR

Bout Of Books 19 is starting tomorrow!! I’m definitely excited to be joining another BoB readathon… For those who aren’t familiar yet with this challenge: it’s all about reading as many books as you want/can and having fun along the way.  The best part: you can make your own goals! For the official rules, check the Bout Of Books page and below:

Now Bout Of Books 19 is about to start, it’s time to think about my goals and a possible TBR… I might change things around along the way depending on what books I’m in the mood with, but we’ll see. First my goals:

GOALS

  • Finish and review 3 books
  • Read 150 pages each day
  • Join a challenge
  • Most importantly: have fun!!

I’ve decided to include mostly ARCs in my TBR since I need to read those anyway, but I couldn’t resist squeezing in one of my personal reads as well. I love Neil Gaiman‘s books and Stardust has been on my TBR for way too long now! It’s actually one of the few exceptions where I’ve seen the movie before reading the book… I’m definitely looking forward to finally read it.

TBR

  • Stardust by Neil Gaiman (266 pages)
  • Aurabel by Laura Dockrill (304 pages) NETGALLEY
  • Manipulated Lives by H.A. Leuschel (274 pages) ARC
  • Heartborn by Terry Maggert (238 pages) ARC
  • The Roses Of May by Dot Hutchison (300 pages) NETGALLEY

It’s not too late to sign up if you want to join the fun!!

#AVAReadathon: It’s A Wrap!

Aimal @ Bookmarks And Paperbacks hosted A Very ARCish Readathon during the whole month of April; a readathon all about tackling your personal ARC mountain. The best part is that the goals were easy: just read as many ARCs as possible, have fun and comment on social media with the hashtag #AVAReadthon if you wanted to.

I made a TBR back in March and ended up reading 6 out of 9 titles on that list. I didn’t read all of them mostly because I had mixed up the dates of some of the ARCs and only noticed in April… But also because I was too weak to resist the NG request button and had to read a few titles first instead. xD

Still, I managed to read a whopping total of 13! ARCs during the month of April. 6 of them were Netgalley ARCs, while 7 were sent by their respective authors. I’m really happy with those numbers, especially since I’ve been waaaaay behind with those ARCs. My NG rating has dropped a bit this month though, so I will have to do something about that in May. Oops?

Here’s a list of all the ARCs I’ve read for the #AVAReadathon and a link to the reviews:

Did you read any ARCs in April? Have you participated in this readathon? Feel free to add your link!

Ready for another round of Bout Of Books?!

I participated in a few Bout Of Books read-a-thons in the past and I always had a great time, so I just couldn’t resist signing up for the next one. And Bout Of Books 19 is just about around the corner! It starts May 8th and ends May 14th, and for those who aren’t familiar yet with this read-a-thon it’s all about reading as many books as you want/can and having fun along the way. The best part: you can make your own goals! For the official rules, check the Bout Of Books page and below:

You can still sign up until May 9th so there is still time to join the fun! I will write a proper goals/TBR post the weekend before the read-a-thon starts, because I have still no clue what books would be next around that time.

I’ve been talking about how I’m trying to beat the ARC monster last week and I came across the perfect challenge to help me do just that. Aimal @ Bookmarks And Paperbacks is hosting A Very ARCish Readathon during the whole month of April and the best part is that the goals are easy: just read as many ARCs as possible! 😀 You can join the readathon conversation by using the #AVAReadathon hashtag on social media as well.

Bout Of Books 16.0 – Wrap It Up!

boutofbooks16

Bout Of Books 16.0 is now officially over, and it’s time to review the numbers. This turned out to be yet another successful and fun read-a-thon… Yay! I managed to finish no less than 7! books, read a total of 2.399 pages and I even read all the titles on my original Bout Of Books TBR as well, which is a small miracle as it is haha. I liked some books better than others, but overall I’m happy with the books I’ve read. And even though I only participated in one challenge this time around, it still means I’ve completed my Bout Of Books goals as well. 😀 Thanks again to the hosts for hosting another fun read-a-thon!

BOUT OF BOOKS 16.0 GOALS

  • Finish at least three books
  • Read at least 1.000 pages
  • Participate in at least one challenge
  • But above all: have fun!!!

boutofbooks16

Day 5 of the Bout Of Books 16.0 was excellent and I managed to finish two more titles! 5 books in 5 days was definitely way more than I was expecting… Sure, The Reader On The 6.27 was a short (but really good) read and I skipped a few short stories I already read in Stars Above, but still…
