Sunday Post #11 – January 17th

sundaypost

Today is Sunday, which means it’s time for another installment of my Sunday Post where I will share a summary of my blogging week and other random facts… Here we go!

# CURRENTLY READING

I’m still reading Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. So far it’s really interesting, although it is quite a slow read… Either that or I really don’t have a lot of spare time to read. Hopefully I will find some time today to at least come closer to actually finishing it!

# LATEST ADDITION TO MY SHELVES

goodreadsblurbriversoflondon

I’ve had Rivers Of London by Ben Aaronovitch on my wishlist for ages, so I guess it’s about time I got a copy. I’m curious to find out what I think of it…

# OTHER (BOOK) NEWS

img1453046506113

Again, I have been failing to post any new recipes at my food blog Easy Peasy Delicious Food. Oops! I have some recipes coming up though… Upper left: doughless chard pizza. Upper right: fresh summer corn salad. Lower left: roast vegetables corn pie. Lower right: sauted pork and vegetable risotto with asian twist. Hopefully I will be able to post at least some of these by the end of next week! 😀

Today is Sunday, which means it’s time for the very first 2016 installment of my Sunday Post where I will share a summary of my blogging week and other random facts… Here we go!

# CURRENTLY READING

On this last day of the Bout Of Books read-a-thon, I will be deciding whether I finish Dark Places by Gillian Flynn or Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid. Both books don’t fully convince me so it will be a tough choice…

# LATEST ADDITION TO MY SHELVES

goodreadsblurbwherethingscomeback

This book has been on my wishlist for ages. Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley doesn’t only have a gorgeous cover (I LOVE anything blue and/or black&white), but the story sounds really interesting as well…

# OTHER (BOOK) NEWS

BoB15-200x200

Not a lot of book news this week because I have been busy with the Bout Of Books 15.0 read-a-thon… I’m having a blast so far and I managed to read a lot more than I originally thought! 😀

img1452341535135

Also, I have been failing to post any new recipes at my food blog Easy Peasy Delicious Food. Oops! I have been cooking/baking, but I just haven’t been having time to put some posts together… Hopefully I will find time to post some healthy ‘post-Holiday’ recipes soon. These chocolate-banana owl muffins above are from New Years Eve; I made them together with my niece and they were delicious even though they didn’t come out quite right. (I forgot that I didn’t have a muffin mold so they came out deformed, oops!)

Today is Sunday, which means it’s time for the very last 2015 installment of my Sunday Post where I will share a summary of my blogging week and other random facts… Here we go!

# CURRENTLY READING

I’m still trying to finish My True Love Gave To Me by Stephanie Perkins and a bunch of other authors. I enjoyed some stories while others were mostly meh; I’m keeping my fingers crossed the unread stories will turn out to belong to the first group.

# LATEST ADDITION TO MY SHELVES

snowlikeashes

I have been wanting to get a copy of Snow Like Ashes for aaaaages!! I have seen so many raving about Sara Raasch books ever since it came out that I still can’t believe I have waited this long to get a copy. But then again, this is true for a lot of popular books…

# OTHER (BOOK) NEWS

BoB15-200x200

I’m SOOO excited! I found out Bout Of Books is going to host another read-a-thon in January! 😀 I loved their previous read-a-thons so I’m going to post my sign up tomorrow. What a great way to start 2016! 😀

Also, I hope everyone who celebrated Christmas had a wonderful time! We personally ate waaay to much and this delicious homemade Argentinian sweet bread didn’t really help either. 😉 I need a detox to get ready for New Years haha.

# CURRENTLY READING

I’m feeling really bad because I’m actually really enjoying this book, but I still haven’t been able to finish The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. Hopefully I will find time to finish it before Christmas! At least I HAVE been able to finish a bunch of other short reads.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about this one, so I’m excited to finally have a copy of The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows! Hopefully I will be able to get to it early next year.

Last Monday we went on a short trip to the capital, and look what I found at the hostel’s book exchange! 😀 Four new FREE books to look pretty on my shelves, yay! I’ve actually already read Paper Towns by John Green earlier this year on my kindle, but I never complain when I see a free paperback copy. 😉 And I finished reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin the other day as well; unfortunately not as interesting as I would have hoped. The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver has been on my wishlist for a while now and Eve by Iris Johansen sounds interesting as well! Looks like I got myself an early Christmas present. ❤

Also, I finally finished making these colorful balloon lights for the garden! 😀 Since it’s summer here in Argentina, we will be having our Holiday dinners outside and now we have these pretty lights to cheer up the dinner area.

# CURRENTLY READING

I did it! I’ve finally started reading The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater after posponing it for I don’t know how many months. I’m excited to be finally reading this series, since so many seem to love it! Fingers crossed I enjoy it better than the Wolves Of Mercy Falls trilogy…

# LATEST ADDITION TO MY SHELVES

theworstdayofmylifesofar

I wasn’t going to get any new kindle freebies until I managed to downsize my enormous TBR pile, but The Worst Day Of MY Life, So Far by M.A. Harper sounded too interesting to ignore. It’s a story about dealing with Alzheimer that is supposed to be both funny and moving.

# OTHER (BOOK) NEWS

Again no book news this week because I haven’t been reading much in general, but I have finally posted the recipe of my Fresh Fruit Tart With Custard Cream at Easy Peasy Delicious Food! 😀

# CURRENTLY READING

I have been reading Paperweight by Meg Haston for the last few days and so far it’s a really good read. I’m still not completely out of my reading slump, but this book is definitely helping! Meg Haston is really describing the whole situation perfectly so far.

# LATEST ADDITION TO MY SHELVES

illuminae

Look who finally got her copy of Illuminae by Amie Kaufman!!! I have only seen raving reviews about this one so I will definitely try to read this one soon. 😀

# OTHER (BOOK) NEWS

No book news this week because I haven’t been reading much in general, but I have been baking a lot lately! 😀 The two pies on top each have custard cream as a filling and fresh fruit on top (the blackberries on the right we picked ourselves!). The bottom left one is a variation of an apple pie with lots of nuts, almonds, raisins and cinnamon… And the last one is a fish, vegetable and roquefort cheese pie that turned out delicious even though I’m not a big fan of fish. 😉 I will probably post the recipes at my Easy Peasy Delicious Food blog at some point…

# CURRENTLY READING

I started Liars, Inc. by Paula Stokes earlier this week but I decided to finish my ARC and read another book before continuing it. I’m still working on the ARC but I’m going to try and finish this one first. It feels like a fast read, so hopefully I will be able to finish both before the end of the month.

# LATEST ADDITION TO MY SHELVES

paperweight

I got a few new titles this week and I don’t remember which was last, but I’m definitely most excited about Paperweight by Meg Haston. It’s what you call a heavy read, but it has been recommended to me various times and I’m really looking forward to it!

# OTHER (BOOK) NEWS

holidayreads

I went looking for some Christmas themed reads yesterday for my December TBR and it turns out I only own two titles I haven’t read… Let It Snow and My True Love Gave To Me. I was supposed to read these last year, so hopefully I will be able to finally finish them in 2015. Any other Christmas titles that should be on my wishlist?

Also, my cat Sienna and I say Hi. 😀
