WWW WEDNESDAYS is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I’m currently reading one of my pending Netgalley reads: My Girl by Jack Jordan. It’s still too early to tell what I will think of it, but it looks like it’s a fast read. I have also finally started Out Of The Easy by Ruta Sepetys; a book I have been wanted to read for a while and it is a nice change of scenery after all those mystery/thriller reads. So far I’m really enjoying it! I also want to continue Sweetheart by Chelsea Cain, but I might read another pending Netgalley mystery/thriller or two before that.
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
* After a few disappointing reads last week, All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda definitely made up for it all. This book is without doubt one of the best mystery/thriller reads I’ve read this year and on my favorites list!
* I then finished Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate, which was quite good, although the many different POVs did make this read a little more difficult to read and less entertaining. Also, I liked some of the characters and prose better than others and I would have liked to see the whole seven sins theme playing a bigger role in the book.
* Last To Die by Arlene Hunt started off slow, but completely recovered with an explosive ending that definitely made this read worth reading! If you like twisted, creepy and intense reads, this one is definitely for you.
* I also read As Red As Blood by Salla Simukka on a whim after thinking about possibly seeing one of my Finnish friends again this summer (who lived in Tampere as well). I really liked the beginning of this read and the setting, but the whole plot and main character was a bit fantastical for a mystery/thriller read and it wasn’t as good as I hoped.
* I’ve also been able to finish Cascadia by H.W. “Buzz” Bernard yesterday evening. I ended up really enjoying this suspense/natural disaster/science story, definitely worth reading! More in the upcoming review…
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
As soon as I finish at least one of my current reads, I will most likely start reading The Night Stalker by Robert Bryndza. I really enjoyed the first book, so I was so glad Netgalley approved my request for the sequel! 😀 I also want to read Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon, a book that has been on my TBR pile for way too long now and really want to read. The Ice Twins by S.K. Tremayne is high on my list as well, both because I’ve heard great things about it and I was able to get a Netgalley copy of the just published The Fire Child by the same author and I want to read the other book first. My latest TBR jar pick is still The Hired Girl by Laura Amy Schlitz. (Which I should read soon since it’s been too long since I last read a TBR jar book.)
Argh! Every time I see The Night Stalker somewhere it remind me I haven’t even read The Girl in the Ice yet. And at the rate he writes, he’ll probably be on book 6 of the series by the time I start! 🙂
I hope you enjoy Everything Everything. It’s been sitting on my TBR for ages as well. If you hate it, it will be a book I can actually remove from me list! 😉

Haha Bryndza definitely writes superfast! I enjoyed the first book and I can’t wait to start reading the sequel (maybe even some time tonight if I can finish Out Of The Easy).
And I’m hoping Everything Everything will be as good as people keep promising me, fingers crossed! 😉

I loved The Girl in the Ice and can’t wait to start The Night Stalker – it’s on my Netgalley list but I’ve got so many books to catch up on there, I’m so behind! 😦 Last to Die looks like an interesting read and The Ice Twins is a definitely must-read, I’m the same as you and have got The Fire Child from Netgalley and realised I should probably read The ice Twins before!
Great post, here’s mine: https://snazzybooks.com/2016/07/06/4567/ 🙂

I’m really looking forward to The Night Stalker as well; it was the main reason I finally signed up with Netgalley in the first place. 😉 I have been able to control my requesting so far so I have only three titles pending… I will read Bryndza first and read the two Tremayne books afterwards; I have heard so many great things about The Ice Twins!

Ah you’re doing well then and being strong! I’ve been on Netgalley for a while now so I really should have learnt not too request too many! Never mind! 🙂

Trust me, it has been really hard to resist the request button… 😉 I will probably start requesting more once I have my ratio up.

I also have The Night Stalker on my TBR, I’m looking to read it in the next couple of weeks. The Girl in the Ice was a great read so I have high hopes too.
I must look up Last to Die as you’re not the only one who’s said it’s a good read so it must be!

I can’t wait to read The Night Stalker! I’m hoping it’s even better than the first book… And Last To Die definitely has an explosive ending.

Your posts are so dangerous. It makes me want to 1) add more books to my lists 2) read more. Your picks are once again great. I really need to get started on Bryndza’s books, by the time I finish The Girl in The Ice, he’ll have written 5 new stories. Lucky you for getting The Fire Child! I’m still waiting for my better half to understand I want it for my birthday, haha. I like the sound of Seven Ways We Lie, I might give it a try.
Happy reading!

Hahaha I’ll try to add less books next week. 😉 Bryndza sure writes superfast; at least I’ve already read the first book, so I can jump right into the sequel now. I got my free copy of The Fire Child in the Read Now section of Netgalley the other day… Although a physical copy of that one would be a great birthday gift as well. 😉 Happy reading!

I always get rejected by the publisher taking care of The Fire Child, so I’ll wait for my copy 🙂

I got mine in the ‘read now’ section of Netgalley a few days ago (I don’t think I would have been approved either if it would been a regular request haha). I’m not sure if it’s still there, but it should be since there wasn’t an archive date set!

I checked but it still says I was declined (as if I needed a reminder!) Mean mean NetGalley, haha!

That sucks! Maybe you had already requested it before? It’s a good excuse to get a physical copy though. 😉

Yay you got a copy! I will probably get a physical copy myself at some point as well; I’m about to finish The Ice Twins and I’m really enjoying it, so I have high hopes for The Fire Child.

I have had Everything Everything on my TBR for ages, too, though I accidentally spoiled the ending for myself (that’s what I get for reading comments on a review) so I’m not sure if I still really want to read it when I know what’s coming. You’ve got me intrigued about Last To Die now!
Here’s my WWW.

That’s so annoying! I always hate it when a book/ending is spoiled… I think most reviews of Everything Everything I’ve read were from last year, so I don’t remember especific details other than that most people seemed to love it. Last To Die is definitely a great read!

I envy you for reading 5 books last week. I can only manage to read 1-2 per week! And I loved Everything, Everything, hope you enjoy it too. 🙂

Trust me, 5 books doesn’t happen all the time. 😉 I guess I was lucky to pick fast/short reads since last week and I had already almost finished the first book when I did last WWW post. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed Everything, Everything!

Everything, Everything was such a good book! I hope you like it. I definitely added Out of the Easy to my TBR yesterday after seeing your reading update on Goodreads yesterday. I have the author’s other two books, at least one of which I hope to read this month. Happy reading! 🙂

I’m glad you enjoyed Everything, Everything! I’m really looking forward to that one. Out Of The Easy is definitely a great read so far, and I really enjoyed her other novel Between Shades Of Gray as well (although they are quite different). Happy reading!

I’ve been reading a lot of mystery/thrillers lately and they definitely have been fun. And I will probably start The Ice Twins right after finishing The Night Stalker. 😉 I have been neglecting poor Sweetheart, but I really want to read the Tremayne books first…

I’m about halfway done with Out Of The Easy so far and I love the setting! I think I’m enjoying it even better than Between Shades Of Gray so far (although the two are completely different and cannot really be compared..) All The Missing Girls is definitely worth reading!

Between Shades of Gray and Out of the Easy are both fantastic, but I’d agree – I think I enjoyed Out of the Easy more but it’s hard to tell haha

Both books are definitely great reads (especially All The Missing Girls)! And I wish I had more time to actually read all the books I want as well; I guess that’s something every booklover seems to suffer from. Too many books, so little time!
