TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly book meme hosted at The Purple Booker. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)
I’m basically drowning in a pool of ARCs right now, but I decided to give myself a little break and pick up my copy of The Song Of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I have been wanting to read this story for ages now, and so far it’s just as good as everyone kept promising me! I’m definitely going to try and finish it before the end of today.
My teaser (20%):
“There was something in Chiron’s face, firm and calm and imbued with authority, that made us children again, with no world beyond this moment’s play and this night’s dinner. With him near us, it was hard to remember what might have happened on the day by the beach.”
What are you reading right now?

This reminded me I loved the writing, especially at the beginning, before boredom killed me xD

The pace definitely is quite slow… I still enjoyed it though, mostly because I had already read part of the original story back in high school and it was nice to refresh memories. 😉

Glad to know I’m not the only one drowning right now ;P I hope you enjoy this one, my dear! ❤

Drowning is actually saying it a big lightly haha; I have no idea where I will find the time to read all of them on time. xD The Song Of Achilles formed a very nice break from the stress though! Such a lovely story…

Great teaser. I’ve been very tempted to try and get this book. I’m fascinated by mythology.

If you like mythology this one is definitely great! It’s basically a more modern adaptation of the original story and very well written.

I though this a most excellent novel.

I finished it yesterday evening and I completely agree! It was great revisiting the Achilles/Troy story and the writing was wonderful.
