TEASER TUESDAYS is a weekly book meme hosted at The Purple Booker. To participate, just open the book you are currently reading to a random page, and choose two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page. (no spoilers!)
I’ve only just started reading the NG ARC The Gypsy Moth Summer by Julia Fierro, but I’ve heard lots of intriguing things about this story. It’s due to be published next week and I’ve had it on my kindle for months now, so it’s about time I read this story! It’s still too early to say something meaningful about the plot or my feelings, although the beginning did feel a bit chaotic (especially the prologue). We’ll see how things go I guess!
My teaser (2%):
“On an island, time can freeze, but that summer the islanders felt a change coming. East and West agreed: there was a yawning divide between old and young. Yesterday and tomorrow.”
What are you reading right now?

This looks interesting! I hope you enjoy it. Right now I’m reading Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. It’s not bad, but it’s sooo long!

I’m hoping to continue it some time today, although so far I’m not really sure if it’s for me yet. And I still can’t believe there are so many Shadowhunter books out there and they just keep coming! I gave up on the original series after City Of Ashes, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m missing out on something big by not giving them another chance… 700 pages sounds huge though!

There are way too many Shadowhunter books. I don’t really think you’re missing out, honestly. Book 4 and 5 of The Mortal Instruments series were awful and I had some issues with #6 as well, but thought it was a decent end to the series. I honestly don’t know why I decided to read the series I am now, but it is kind of entertaining.

That definitely doesn’t make me want to continue with the TMI series then! I have a copy of book 3-6 on my kindle, but I’ll probably never get to them… Good to hear this series is more entertaining though.

This is an intriguing writing style – though I can see if could get a bit annoying if it kept on like that… Are you settling into it more? This is TT this week – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/05/30/teaser-tuesday-30th-may-2017/

I haven’t read much more since yesterday so it’s still too early to tell… I’m still not sure where the story will go, but hopefully things will become clear before too long.

I’m looking forward to hearing how you get on with it in due course:)

I’m hoping to continue reading it either today or tomorrow… I’m hoping having read something completely different in between will help me enjoy the rest of this story better.

Ah – I generally only read one book at a time, unless I start something else by accident. I’m always very impressed with folks who can keep a number of books on the go:))

I only manage if the books are either completely different genres or have a distinctive plot… I normally try to keep it to maximum two titles at once, but I have been struggling to find a story I was in the mood for lately so that explains why I have various started titles right now.

I love that teaser! Sounds very inviting indeed. I am working on Red Queen by Christina Henry.

The dichotomy sounds interesting. I never heard about this one, but I’ll be sure to be on the lookout for your thoughts on it once you finish it! 😀

I personally had a hard time finishing this story and it definitely wasn’t for me… Too chaotic and I wasn’t able to connect to the characters or get used to the writing style. It is supposed to be literary fiction which can go both ways with me, so that might just be it…
