Book Review Policy

bookreviewpolicy

Authors and publishers have contacted me in the past with the request of reviewing their book, and I’m grateful for them to consider It’s All About Books. I always enjoy discovering new authors and books and I tend to read books from a wide variety of genres. So if you are a publisher or an author looking for someone to write an honest review of your book, the chances are high I would say yes! If you are interested, you can contact me through my Contact Info page; I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Please note the following information before sending me a review request:

Please note that since I’m living in Argentina, the easiest way for me to review your book is in e-book form. Any format compatible with kindle would be highly appreciated. I will try to read and review the book that has been sent to me as soon as possible (normally in less than eight weeks) and contact you as soon as I’ve posted my reviews both here and on Goodreads(For now I won’t be able to post my reviews on any other website, so please don’t ask!).

25/02/2017: IMPORTANT: due to the amount of pending review copies currently on my readinglist, it will most likely take me at least three months before I will be able to start a new title. Until further notice, I’m afraid I will have to decline any requests where a fast review is required.

My reviews always follow this standard format:

  • The details of the book I’ve read (title/author/publish date/page count etc)
  • The rating which gives a general idea of my opinion according to my Rating System.
  • A quote to give those who read my reviews an initial feel of the story.
  • My Rambles, where I give my general opinion of the book.
  • Short Summary, where I try to keep the summary short and spoiler-free.
  • Final Thoughts, where I give my final opinion and thoughts on the book in question.

All my reviews will be my honest opinion and therefore I cannot garantuee a completely positive review. To give an idea of the books I like and don’t like to read, I’ve listed both my top 5 favorite genres and the genres/elements I tend to stay away from below.

TOP 5 FAVORITE genres

  1. Mystery/Thriller/Crime
  2. Fantasy
  3. Historical Fiction
  4. YA
  5. Memoirs/True Crime

What I DON’T read:

# Anything with cheesy romance or (romantic) cliches. Tropes like insta-love and love triangle are likewise a huge turn off.
# Erotica, sexy scenes, adult content etc.
# Anything involving vampires. I’m sorry, but if your story is about vampire, there is a 99,9% chance I won’t like it. Therefore I’ve decided to not read any new stories that have the slightest hint of fanged characters.
# Religious/inspirational stories. Especially if they sound preachy.
# Business/Financial.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review policy! If you have any further questions you can ask them through the contact page.

Time To Celebrate!

celebration_by_mylifethroughthelens-d6icihd

The other day I realized I have been blogging at WordPress for more than a year now! I started posting my reviews at a different blog, but moved to WordPress in August last year. So it is time to celebrate and thank everyone who has visited, commented and supported my humble blog during the last year!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE OUT THERE FOR INSPIRING ME TO KEEP IMPROVING MY BLOG AND ABOVE ALL: TO KEEP READING!!! 😀

It means the world to me that my rambles are being appreciated, and I love that this blog has made me read more than ever AND made me get to know some very awesome people and great community. Thanks again! ❤

On to some numbers… In the last year blogging, 286 people decided that my rambles are interesting enough to follow It’s All About Books, and together have liked more than 1000 times what I’ve wrote. I have managed to read 100 books since I first started to keep notes of what I’ve read in November 2012 (although I still have to upload some older reviews), and I have reached the magical 150 post mark the other day as well! Woohoo! When I first started this blog, I wouldn’t have even dreamed about these numbers… And sometimes when I open my blog, I still cannot believe it. So… Thanks to all those awesome people out there! Let’s go celebrate with some virtual cupcakes and adorable kittens! 😀

It’s All About Books

Featured

IT’S ALL ABOUT BOOKS… Well, at least books have an important role of my life. They form a way to escape reality; for me to enter a different world. A place where everything is possible, only limited by the imagination of its writer. Like someone famous once said: ‘Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body‘.

I’ve been reading ever since I was three years old, devouring books by dozens at my hometown library. I continued reading all the way through high school, and later decided to study Spanish Language And Culture and read some more. A few years ago I started travelling, and that’s when the idea came up to start keeping track of the books I’ve read… Hence this blog It’s All About Books was born, with reviews of all the books I’ve been reading since November 2012.

Before I leave I would like to say that I’m always looking for new books to add to my TBR list, and I would love any recommendations you might think of. I’m trying to broaden my literary horizon, so I’m open to practically any literary genre… 🙂
