WWW WEDNESDAYS is hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I finally did it: I started reading the book that has been on my TBR pile the longest! And The Mountains Echoed is just as good as Khaled Hosseini‘s other books so far, so I’m still not sure why it took me this long to finally pick it up. I’ve also started reading On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta… I’m not that far into the story yet, but it is yet another title I have been wanting to read for a while now.
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
I managed to finish no less than six titles since last week, so I’m pretty much a happy camper. Most of them were on my original October TBR so it looks like I might actually complete the list!
* Somehow I have never read a graphic novel before, but Through The Woods by Emily Carroll was hauntingly beautiful and the perfect introduction to the genre.
* My next read was The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom, a truly inspirational read about how we have become obsessed with time over the centuries.
* I then read Firebolt by Adrienne Woods, an ARC and fantasy story about dragons I absolutely loved. I will have to continue the series soon since the ending was a mayor cliffhanger!
* I was in the mood for a good crime story, so I picked up The Night She Disappeared by April Henry up next. It was a quick and entertaining read and just what I was looking for.
* I managed to finish The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern next. I really enjoyed this read and the descriptions and prose are more than beautiful. The odd pace did prevent me from finishing this read quickly though.
* The last book on the list was the only one I was slightly disappointed by this week: My Name Is Memory by Ann Brashares.
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
As soon as I finish And The Mountains Echoed, I wil start reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I have been wanting to start this series for ages now and I’m really looking forward to read it. I should read The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey first though since I have been starting way too many new series without reading sequels… And I have a new ARC, Ochoco Reach by Jim Stewart, pending as well. The last one, The Valentine Circle by Reinaldo DelValle, is my latest TBR jar pick I will most likely put on hold until I’ve finished most books on my October TBR.
Well done on starting your longest TBR book; I’m not sure I even know what mine is 😉
Glad you enjoyed The Night Circus, you may enjoy The Invisible Library too.

I know mine mostly because of goodreads. 😉 I have The Invisible Library on my wishlist; I will definitely try to get a copy.

I want to read The Outlander series too, but I’m put off because the enormous books mean it’ll be a commitment! I have quite a few other books I want to get through first 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed The Night Circus – I did overall, but didn’t find it very “reader friendly”. Looking forward to your review.
Thanks for visiting my WWW and happy reading!

I have been posponing my Outlander read for mostly the same reasons, but so many people seem to love this series so I’m going to give it a go.
I agree that The Night Circus definitely isn’t an easy read or fit for a broad public… You have to be open for a slow pace and extensive (but beautiful) descriptions to really enjoy this read.

I think the reason I keep putting off trying The Night Circus is because I know it’s a slower read. I have been reading A Discovery of Witches forever because it’s also slow, but I really like it!
Good luck with Outlander!! I hope you enjoy it. I never was able to get into it, but I have so many friends who love it.

The Night Circus is definitely a slow read, but worth reading as the prose and general story is beautiful. I tried reading A Discovery Of Witches last year but I just couldn’t get into it… I might give it another go some day though.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed I will be able to finish Outlander before the end of the month, although it will probably depend on how much I will enjoy the first part.

OUTLANDER! Yay! 🙂
I love it, if you cannot tell. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I’ve re-read I don’t know how many times. Such wonderful writing. Happy reading!

I’m really excited to finally start Outlander! I already know that if I enjoy the first book I will get a copy of the rest of the series ASAP as well. Happy reading!

I will probably read The Infinite Sea as soon as I finish my current reads… I’m curious to find out if I enjoy it better than the first book.

Hope you enjoy Outlander! The first book is the best of the series but beware – it takes time to get through them all! Have a great week!!

I’m looking forward to finally start this series because it has been on my TBR for a while now. I’ve heard so many positive things about it that I can’t wait to start reading!

I really liked The Night Circus but I read it quite slowly as well. I think I’d like to re-read it and see if I like it even more on a re-read!

The Night Circus is without doubt beautifully written, but the weird pacing and many descriptions make it into a slow read… I already knew that before I started it, so I wasn’t that bothered by it. A reread at some point would probably be a great idea though!

You finished all of those this week? Wow, good job! Happy reading! https://ireadboooks.wordpress.com/2015/10/14/www-wednesdays-october-14-2015/

Most of them were quite short reads so I guess that’s why I was able to finish this many. 😉 Happy reading!

I really want to read Through the Woods! I am also interested in trying out graphic novels/comics since I’ve never really read any before.
I’m so glad you enjoyed The Time Keeper! It’s such a great read and I love that book so much. 🙂
I’ve been starting a lot of series as well. I’m going to make a list of all the series I have started. Plus lately it seems like all the new releases coming out are ending up as series, so it’ll be nice to keep track of those as well that still have books coming.
Here’s my post if you want to check it out:

Through The Woods was so creepy and beautiful; it convinced me I should try to read graphic novels more often. 🙂
I will definitely try to reread The Time Keeper at some point… I really like the message Mitch Albom is giving us.
And I have been a disaster with starting and not finishing series haha. I made a full list of all the series I have on my TBR, have started or finished and things aren’t pretty. 😉

So Through The Woods is definitely on my need to by list now! How long is the 5th Wave series? I think I’m getting it mixed up with the Gone series which seemed to get some mixed reviews….I hope your Wednesday was great!

So far there are only two books, but if I remember correctly there will be a third. I wasn’t impressed by the first book but I’ve heard the sequel is better…

I’m glad you’re enjoying ‘And the Mountain’s Echoed.’ I wasn’t as big of a fan of that title as I was of Hosseini’s other books. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

I’m about 35% into the story and so far it’s good, although I agree I liked his other novels better. Thanks for hosting and happy reading!

I enjoyed the beginning of The 5th Wave, but it soon went downwards from there… I’ve heard the sequel is a lot better, so that’s probably why I still have it on my TBR. 🙂
