WWW WEDNESDAYS is hosted by Sam at Taking On A World Of Words and is all about answering the three questions below.
- WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
I am currently reading two titles I have been wanting to start for a while now: The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings and Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. The first is a really fast and entertaining read so far, so I will most likely finish it first and then continue with Outlander. I’m not too far into that one yet, but so far things are looking promising!
- WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Four finished books this weeks, which is not bad at all considering I didn’t have that much time to read.
* The first is The Girl Of Fire And Thorns by Rae Carson; a title I picked up because I was in the mood for a good fantasy read. I really enjoyed this one!
* I then finally finished And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini, completing my two TBR challenges. Yay! I didn’t enjoy this one as much as his other work though…
* Next up is Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake, which I LOVED! It’s such a creepy and perfect Halloween read! I’m going to read the sequel ASAP.
* The last one is On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta, a read that starts out really confusing and I’m still not completely sure what to think of it.
- WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’LL READ NEXT?
The first book I will pick up when I finish The Murder Complex will be my only pending ARC Ochoco Reach by Jim Stewart. After that, I will probably try to finally read The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey… Although I might give in and start yet another series first with Bad Girls Don’t Die by Katie Alender since I’m trying to read a bunch of creepy books for Halloween. The last one, The Valentine Circle by Reinaldo DelValle, is still my latest TBR jar pick I will most likely put on hold until I’ve finished most books on my October TBR.
One day I will make time for the Outlander series – it’s just so daunting!

I’ve been hesitant to pick it up as well because of the length… I have so many books I want to read that reading one over 800 pages means could have read at least three other titles. But so many people seem to love this series that I hope that it’s worth it. 😉

How did you find And The Mountains Echoed? I’ve read A Thousand Splendid Suns which is honestly one of the best books I’ve ever picked up 🙂

I really loved both A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner, but And The Mountains Echoed was a slight disappointment to be honest. There were just too many different storylines and I wasn’t blown away by it like with the other two books.

So far The Murder Complex is really interesting and quite a fast read as well! I can’t wait to continue reading later today. Anna Dressed In Blood was SUCH a good read and perfect for Halloween and The Girl Of Fire And Thorns was really great as well. 😀

I loved Anna Dressed in Blood. The sequel was good too.
I’ve had Girl of Fire and Thorns on my list for a while now – several people have recommended it. I should probably read it at some point. 🙂
Happy reading!

Anna Dressed In Blood was so good that I’m probably going to end up reading the sequel somewhere next week… It’s the perfect Halloween duology.
The Girl Of Fire And Thorns is a really entertaining read as well as long as you don’t mind the religious references… It’s yet another series I want to continue soon.
Happy reading!

I really enjoyed Outlander, but I struggled to get into the second book, and didn’t end up finishing it. One day, I will go back to the start and read them all!

I will probably try to read the rest of the series after finishing Outlander, although probably not right away. There are so many other books I want to read first, and because of the length these are quite a commitment.

I keep thinking about reading Outlander but it’s such a huge commitment. It looks like you had a great reading week, though!

Yeah, I kept putting it off for the same reason… I have so many unread books on my shelf that reading a book this length means I could have read at least three others. 😉 Outlander is pretty good so far though!

I wasn’t a huge fan of ‘And the Mountains Echoed’ either. I thought ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ was a lot more powerful. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

Good to know I wasn’t the only one! I really want to reread a Thousand Splendid Suns some time soon because I don’t remember all the details.

Ochoco Reach looks deadly! It’s already setting the mood. I am still guiltily ignoring The Fiery Cross and wanting to just re-read Outlander again instead. *sigh*
Happy reading!

I’ve started Ochoco Reach today and so far it’s pretty intriguing! The cover definitely sets the mood.
And sometimes rereading the first book of a series makes you want to continue with a sequel after you finish. 😉
Happy reading!

I have to agree with you on the Khaled Hosseini, I enjoyed it, just not quite as much. Looks like you have had an amazing reading week for someone without much time!!

Reading And The Mountains Echoed really made me want to reread his other two novels just to see if I still enjoy them as much as the first time… And I guess I was lucky to finish these four titles in week. 🙂
